WINSday at Truist Point: The Core Pours in 4 Goals in Victory Versus Inter Miami CF II
High Point, NC – Carolina Core FC delivered a dominant performance at Truist Point Stadium on Wednesday night, scoring twice in the opening minutes and cruising to a 4-0 victory over Inter Miami CF II.
The Foxes came out of the gate on the front foot, with Nick Kaloukian and Tristan Weber each getting shots off within the opening two minutes. Thomas Raimbault broke the deadlock just moments later, burying a rebound to give Carolina Core FC a 1-0 lead in the second minute. The early strike marked Raimbault’s third goal of the season, moving him into second on the team in scoring.
Carolina doubled its advantage shortly afterward when Arnaud Tattevin made a dangerous run down the left flank and drew a foul from Nick Almeida inside the penalty area. Kaloukian calmly converted the ensuing penalty kick, placing his shot into the bottom right corner for his first goal with The Core and a 2-0 lead.
Inter Miami CF II responded with sustained pressure for much of the opening half, recording 12 shots and earning six corner kicks while testing Nick Holliday and the Carolina Core backline. Despite being outshot, the Foxes remained clinical in front of goal, putting four of their six first-half shots on target to take a two-goal advantage into the break.
The second half opened with both sides battling for control as play shifted from end to end. Kaloukian nearly added his second goal of the night when he rose for a header in front of goal, but Goalkeeper Matias Marin came up with the save to keep Miami within striking distance.
Following a weather delay, Carolina quickly regained control of the match. David Diaz extended the lead to 3-0 with a composed low finish into the right corner, capping off another dangerous attacking sequence for the Foxes.
The Core continued to dictate play throughout the closing stages, maintaining possession and creating chances in the attacking third while limiting Miami’s opportunities. The visitors pushed forward late, but Carolina’s defense held firm. In the 88th minute, second-half substitute Grayson Rockhill put the finishing touch on the evening, finding the back of the net to seal a convincing 4-0 victory at Truist Point Stadium.
