According to Max preps, Grimsley won 63-0.
Not really surprised Andy picked against Page. He tends to go with the proven coach, and coach Davis is that. But, Page is different this year.
I do wonder if he is surprised at the score line, though.
The Page/Grimsley game wasn’t hard to pick, but Page isn’t gonna beat Grimsley and that is coming from someone that doesn’t have a dog in the fight. They are a well coached and disciplined team, but I don’t see them beating Grimsley.
Andy at (12-3) on his picks this week…On the season he is (123-4)…Not really but did do the (12-3) this week…How did others do???
I missed on the Page-Dudley game, and that one turned out to be blowout….Bryant Roche, from the News and Record was taking Page, while me and Coach Coiro were taking Dudley…We did have a very good game tonight, over in High Point, where Northeast Guilford escaped with a 22-19 win over West Stokes…That was true battle going on, over there at Simeon Stadium…West Stokes was a bit of a surprise, and they gave the NEG Rams a fit…But, you learn much from playing tough teams….

What I couldn’t understand was why wasn’t trying to throw to their Star WR #2 Carmack? At 6-4 he had the height advanage over the CB, The Page defender was backing up a ton of times 8-10 yard away to prevent the deep pass play, but gave up the 10-12 inside slant or hook plays. Page was playing him 1 on 1 too. All Dudley did was run up the middle and on the left or right side of the line trying to get a running game going, Page was flying straight into the gaps. The Page players and Students for sure gave their former QB Grief all night, they had Hounded Him hard. I’m not a Coach, but several older Men was asking the same thing about why Dudley didn’t go to Carmack’s way to force a double team or something. Even though I pulled and supported Dudley, I took others at Dudley I thought Page was going to win at Home, they was due, I think it’s been since 2018. But also Page was really Good after beating Charlotte Christian I knew it might be something different over there. Last night game was for 2nd place though. Neither team will beat Grimsley, But Page will go 9-1.
I guess the Dudley staff had alot of respect for Page DB. Vermont is tall but Page DB are very skilled and ball Hawks.

Dudley was down, and it was down to their last chance and last drive of the game for Dudley…
Dudley’s Brion Seagraves receives the punt, and he is running right to left, on the Page grass field…
Seagraves gets a good return, and sets up Dudley, in Page territory…
The Dudley QB was a kid named Hendon Hooker, and some of you may remember “Hook”…
Well QB Hooker takes his Panthers down the field, and Dudley gets the ball down to around the Page 5-yard line and Dudley goes for it for all four downs….
And on the last play of the game, Hooker carries the ball, and he is headed to the End Zone and carries the ball to right at the One-Foot line, and it looks like Hendon Hooker may have got in for the Panthers’ game-winning Touchdown….
But the officials said Hendon came up short and did not cross the goal line and get into the End Zone….
And people were asking the question then, and some are still asking that same question now, “Did Hendon Hooker Get In”?????
It was so close he must have missed getting in by an EyeLash….
But, I can tell you, people are still asking that question today, “Did Hooker Get In”?????
And that was your ‘Instant Classic’…..

I remember that game, I thought Hendon got in too!
No he didn’t get in. He actually fumbled going into the end zone. He fumbled on the one. Thats a fact.

Hooker did not get in… from film replay he was fumbling the ball and when it was recovered he was short. The refs got it right.
and im tired of hearing about Dudley being down… if they are down, then why did almost everyone pick them to win last night. it makes zero sense…
@REGAP NCPREPS/ON3.COM at the beginning of the season had Dudley winning 21-20 with a 51% chance. After week 2 going into week 3, PAGE was picked to WIN by a 74% to 26% margin it flex between 37-20 to 34-20 in PAGE Favor. https://simmonsratings.com/hsfootball.htm had PAGE WINNING BY 11 pts. Dudley was picked before the season as one of the top 6A Teams to make the Championship Game, after 2 weeks That Talk went away. That is why???
@ The reason also has been how Dudley losses the past two years have been bad blowouts to GOOD TEAMS like Cardinal Gibbons, SE RALEIGH, GASTONIA ASHBROOK and this year PAGE! It not losing to good teams, but how stagnet the Offense has been in not moving the ball. Especially after all those years they was averaging 40-50 a game forever for years.
