Greensboro Grasshoppers take the Six-Game Series from the Blue Rocks this week, 5-1…..The lone Rock win came on Saturday night, when the Blue Rocks grabbed their 8-4 victory…

On Sunday, the Hoppers took an early 2-0 lead on Sammy Siani’s two-run home run to right field…Siani drove in Brenden Dixon, who had walked vs. the Rocks’ starting pitcher, Dannel Diaz…

The Grasshoppers saw the Blue Rocks tie the game up at 2-2, with one run in the fifth inning, and one more tally in the sixth inning…The game was knotted up at 2-2, and it stayed that way until the Grasshoppers got busy in the bottom of the eighth inning, where Greensboro scored four big runs, to run out to a 6-2 advantage…

The Hoppers got four runs on three hits in that mighty eighth inning, highlighted by the Shawn Ross two-run homer to left field…Luke Brown got it rolling vs. the Rocks in the eighth, with his flare single to right, and then he scored on a fly ball that got down in center field giving Will Matthiessen an RBI single…Tsung-Che Cheng walked and he ended up coming to score on a Wild Pitch from Thomas Ruwe…Next the Hoppers’ Shawn Ross hit his HR, scoring him and Matthiessen…

A very solid four-run eighth inning from the Greensboro Grasshoppers…The score was Greensboro 6, Wilmington 2, going to the ninth inning where the Rocks posted one more run, to the make the final score, 6-3, Grasshoppers…T.J. White scored for the Rocks in the ninth, on a ground ball by Jared McKenzie….

Steak n Shake Players of the Game were Sammy Siani, Will Matthiessen, and Shawn Ross, all of who came up with very big and timely hits in this game…Also sending out a SNS POG to Grant Ford, the Hoppers winning pitcher….

Rocks at the plate showed leadership from Jared McKenzie who was 2-5/Double/2 RBI…Jeremy De La Rosa went 2-4/Double…Viandel Pena was 2-4/Double/Run…Jordy Barley 2-4/Run…And those four Blue Rock batters accounted for eight of the Rocks ten hits…
