There was a young man, Jaylon Mikel Grier, who played high school football for the Western Guilford Hornets, and he just graduated from WG, and now he is headed to Methodist University to play college football…
After Kevin Colvin, Enad Haddad and I finished throwing the football, me and Jaylon ran sprints….We did 60’s and 100’s…We were sort of racing, but for sure we were sprinting and really running fast…
He won two of the sprints, I won two sprints, we tied once, and then he took the winner take all sprint, in the 100 meter race…He edged me out by a nose, and I did not anticipate his final surge…He snuck it in on me, and Jaylon Mikel Grier will keep working hard, and he will go on to great things at Methodist University…
Jaylon graduated from Western Guilford in 2023, and I graduated from Western Guilford a few years before that, but I can still hang with the best of the Western Guilford and other area athletes, and love to broadcast the Guilford County Athletes’ games, we write about the local athletes, and we train with them too…
