UNCG Women’s Golf Takes Home Third at UNCG Collegiate

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The UNC Greensboro (UNCG) women’s golf team concluded the UNCG Collegiate in third place at Grandover Resort Golf Course on Tuesday, October 10th with a 17-over-par (881) three-round score.

High Point took the team title with a six-under-par (858) performance, while Richmond finished in second just two strokes better than the Spartans at 12-over-par (876).

Alex Phelps paced the Spartans with a round two score of one-under-par (71) and a round three score of two-under-par (70) to finish seventh. The junior had six birdies during round two and four during round three.

Grace Holcomb was right behind her tying for eighth, with a score of two-over-par (218). Holcomb collected a round two score of 76 and a round three score of 71.

Julia Baeumken collected two birdies in round two, to finish the round with a score of two-over-par (74). Baeumken finished the tournament tied for 16th five-over-par (221), after posting a score of two-over-par (73) in round three.

Ava Romfo ended the tournament with a round two and three score of three-over-par (75). Romfo posted three birdies in each of the two final rounds.

Elle Burnette had the same score of four-over-par (76) in rounds two and three. She carded one of her three birdies in round two on the par three 125-yard, hole five. Burnette finished the tournament tied for 36th.

Competing as individuals, Anna Bowman collected a score of six-over-par tied for 19th. Bowman posted three birdies in round two, and six in round three. She collected a score of four-under-par (68) for a career-low round in the third round.

Gabriela Cruz had a score of 18-over-par (234)to finish tied for 62nd, she posted a birdie on the par three 125-yard, hole five in round two. Cruz concluded round three with a score of seven over par (79).

Victoria Cook finished tied for 97th, posting a birdie on the 330-yard par four 18th hole. Cook collected a score of 13-over-par (85) in round two and 11-over-par (83) in round three.
