Grimsley “Lights Out” in 88-57 win over Ragsdale

Back in the old days of the Wild West, the expression of “Shooting the lights out” was used to describe exceptional performance.  Grimsley hit five first-half triples and quickly built a 20-point lead in a fast, clean and efficient first two quarters.  So, when the lights of the Grimsley scoreboard failed during the intermission maybe it was a sign.  After the break, using a small portable scoreboard, Grimsley continued to roll, winning comfortably 88-57.

Grimsley big man Rich Goods scored 30 and notched yet another double-double to improve the Whirlies to 9-1 in the Metro 4A and 15-4 on the season.  Nine different Whirlies tallied points including 10 for Faizon Brandon and 15 for Nick Keith.  Ragsdale sophomore guard Patrick Carter scored double figures to lead the Tigers who dropped to 2-18 on the season and 1-9 in conference.
