If you remember the old Gunsmoke shows, they had Marshall Matt Dillon, and we could not Rewind him, but we did locate Woody Marshall from the N&R, and we have loosened the jar, and were able to get you his exclusive photo footage from last night’s Dudley-Glenn game, and if you will just take the time to Click On, you can see a ton of his work from over at Tarpley Stadium, on Lincoln Street in Greensboro, N.C.

We are five frames into The Rewind, and we are just getting warmed up, so don’t let the threat of being burned out, make you want to Slow Down…Let’s GET DOWN with more of the top High School Football Program in the whole good ole USA…Here it tis Brother Tisdale…..More of The Saturday Morning Rewind coming your way after a word from our new sponsor, Uncle Josh’s Fish Bait…

I was in Mr. Brown’s 10th grade history class at the old Western Guilford High School, and a kid named Joey Jenkins had brought a bottle of Uncle Josh’s Fish Bait with him to school, and he let me take a look at it there in the history class, and I opened the small bottle of fish bait there in the classroom, and it let out a smell that would make Mother Teresa wail/cry…

Mr. Brown yelled, “What is that sickening smell”, and when he did, I dropped the Uncle Josh’s Fish Bait bottle onto the classroom floor and the rest is history….Bad History, as that smell would not go away, for many a day…That Fish Bait smell became a permanent fixture of our history classroom, and we found Uncle Josh and his Fish Bait Bottle were one of the most memorable pieces of what went down in Western Guilford High School history….Uncle Josh’s Fish Bait, don’t be late, get yours today…..

Bigger in history than George Birthington’s Washday, “Uncle Josh’s Fish Bait”…..

Friday Football Fever is next, and you need to catch it…They have the video highlights from all of last night’s games and the show had Bryce Parker and Chad Silber hosting, and they also had the return of Mr. Higgins, and that would be Sean Higgins making his cameo go with the flow, and he was an added addition to last night’s show, and here you go, with their Video a go-go…

  1. A young man/football player from the McDowell Titans team was injured in the game last night, and had to be taken to the local hospital…Our thoughts and prayers go out to him and his family today….

  2. This note coming in from Dee Mack, following the Western Guilford Hornets this 2025 season….

**********The Hornets visiting Asheville in a loopside contest, with the Cougars winning 42-7. ********
WG Hornets done for the season and finish with a (5-6) overall record…

  3. @ Andy

Per a family member who is close to McDowell athletics the young man is okay, all tests cleared him from a neck issue, but he did have a concussion.

  4. Thanks for sharing and that is great to hear that he is doing much better….I thought at the time last night/Friday night, that they might just stop the game after the young man’s injury and call it Finished…They did continue and all was completed…The score was no longer a factor after halftime, and Page was in control of that game from the time the Pirates walked on the field and began their warmups…..

I would just have to say that Page was in charge of ALL phases of that game vs. McDowell, the school we used to call McDowell County…Just like it used to be Davie County, but now the War Eagles are just Davie…
