The Hoppers got Two Home Runs each from Edward Florentino and from Brian Sanchez…Florentino goes 2-5/2 HRs/2 Runs/3 RBI…Sanchez was 3-4/2 HRs/2 Runs/2 RBI…These two top Hoppers from Sunday, were our REMAX Revolution Players of the Game…

Plus you had these Hopper Hitters:Murf Gray 2-4/HR/Run/RBI…Carlos Caro 2-4/2 Doubles…Easton Carmichael 2-5/HR/Double/…Dylan Palmer went 1-4/Run…

The Grasshoppers starting pitcher, Hung-Leng Chang got roughed up some, as he worked 2 2/3s Innings, allowing 7 Runs, on 6 Hits, with 2 BB/2 Ks, plus the tough part for HL Chang was the fact that he gave up Three Hot Rod Homers…Chang did take the loss, and the Win went to the Bowling Green reliever Kaleb Corbett…Corbett had been listed as the scheduled starter for the BG Hot Rods, but they went with K.C. Hunt instead…So Corbett comes in and he gets busted up some, but ends up working 3 2/3s Innings, giving up 6 Runs, on 8 Hits, with 0 BB/1 K, and here is the crazy part, Corbett survives giving up FIVE(5) Hopper Home Runs, and Corbett still earns the Victory, for his Bowling Green Hot Rods…Corbett was watching the ball go into orbit on Sunday…And he still gets the win…Right Place, Right Time, Right Man for the job…

Good News at the end of the day for the Bowling Green Hot Rods injured center fielder Marshall Toole…Toole took a bad spill going after Easton Carmichael’s Home Run ball in the Bottom of the Seventh Inning, and Carmichael got his LOOOOONG GONE Home Run, but Toole landed hard, as he came down after going for the ball, and Toole hurt his knee, and he had to be stretchered off of the field…In talking to the attending EMTs on the way out of the ballpark, after the game, they said he injured his knee, but he should be able to walk, as he and his Hot Rod team loaded up the bus for their next game, at Hub City…Again, EMTs told me, it was his knee, but walking should good for Toole on Sunday…Very good news here on that injury front…

The top Hot Rod hitter on Sunday, was Tony Santa Maria, who went 3-5/Double/2 Runs…Productive day for the Rods’ Ryan McCoy, who was 2-5/2 HRs/BB/2 Runs/5 RBI…Carlos Colmenarez coldcocked Two Long Home Runs for the BG Hot Rods, and he also scored Two Runs, and Drove in Three Runs…Colmenarez Coldcocked the Baseball for LOOOOOONG HRs…The Rods’ OF Aiden Smith got his first hit of the week, in the Top of the Third Inning, and it was a Solo HR for Smith, and ends up going 2-5/HR/Double, and Smith with, 1 Run/1 RBI…

There were 11 Home Runs, in this contest, with the Hoppers hitting Six HRs, and the Rods coming up with Five…It was a multi-homer day, as we look back, at the charts…Hoppers had Two Homers each from Florentino and Sanchez, plus Solo HRs were leaving the yard from Carmichael and Murf Gray…For the Hot Rods, they saw Ryan McCoy and Carlos Colmenarez go LOOOONG Twice each, while the Rods got one Home Run from Aiden Smith…Again, Eleven(11) HRs, bewteen the two clubs…

Two other key points for us, as we scour information to seal up, and close out our Week in the South Atlantic League…The Hoppers have now hit 148 Home Runs, as a team on the season…The #2 HR team is the Greenville Drive, with 121 homers…Then you have Bowling Green, with 108 homers, the WS Dash have 107, Hub City is there with 105, and the Frederick Keys have 104…..Also, the Greensboro Grasshoppers still have a Two-Game lead over the Wilmington Blue Rocks in the South Atlantic League North, for the Second Half, as we begin a new week in the SALLY on Tuesday…

On Sunday afternoon, the Hoppers led early on Florentino’s Solo HR, in the bottom of the First…From there, the Hot Rods got rolling and went on top 7-1, the Hoppers cut the lead to 7-3 BG, then the Hot Rod lead grew to 8-3, then it swelled to 10-3, before the Hoppers cut it back to 10-4, then Greensboro made it 10-7 Hot Rods, in the Bottom of the Seventh, but that is as close as the Grasshoppers could and would get…Final again goes, Bowling Green 10, Greensboro 7…..

Game Details from Sunday:
Attendance-1,529
Time of Game-2:45
Game Time Temp-88 Degrees and Partly Cloudy, at 2:04pm….

Up Next:Greensboro Grasshoppers(52-29), with an OFF Day on Monday, and then back in action on Tuesday, with the Greenville Drive(31-47) at the Hoppers/at First National Bank Field, for a gametime of 6:30pm…..
