Nothern Guilford very strong in 2025, and in the re-loading phase, right now in 2026…Got a lot of good, young talent, and they can’t wait to get it going for real, on Friday August 21, versus the Reidsville Rams, inside of the Johnny Roscoe Stadium there at NGHS, as the first full regular season game of the new HS football season appproaches…

Thinking about the old days in Guilford County, after we finished up our talk with Coach Westberg this morning, and how you had the city schools; Grimsley, Page, Dudley, and Smith, and then you had the county schools; and they had nothing to do with the city bunch, unless you happened to have a chance meeting on a given Friday…
Southern Guilford, Western Guilford, even Allen Jay, were all cranking up near the top back in the day…And you didn’t have much to say to the city schools, at all…
Two different school systems, and pretty much, two different sets of football systems and values…If you beat Southern, Western, or even Allen Jay, back in the day, then you had something to say…
And if you beat Ragsdale, then you had de-throned King Richard Kemp’s Ragsdale/Jamestown Tigers….
Those were some different times back in that era, and you stayed in your own backyard for pretty much your entire HS football career…
The lines were drawn, and the County stayed on their end, and the City stayed on their end, and you did not cross over those boundaries…
Gibsonville was Yellowjacket Country, and Brown Summit was Northeast Guilford territory, and nothing more…
These days nobody stays, they all live to play another day, at a different stay…
I sort of have lost my way, but it is OK…We still have high school football, and we will always know what Andy Griffith taught us back in the day, “What is Wuz, and What it still is, IS Football”…..
