Palmer Delivers Walk-Off Hit as Grasshoppers Defeat Dash
PALMER DELIVERS WALK-OFF HIT AS GRASSHOPPERS DEFEAT DASH IN EXTRAS
GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro Grasshoppers defeated the Winston-Salem Dash, 10-9, in extra innings on a walk-off hit by Dylan Palmer. With the win, Greensboro improved to 26-19 in the second half of the season, while Winston-Salem fell to 22-22. The Grasshoppers outhit the Dash, 10-9, with both teams committing two errors.
Catcher Axiel Plaz led the Grasshoppers at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a double and one run scored. Designated hitter Cam Janik followed with a 2-for-4 performance that included a triple and one run scored. Wyatt Sanford, Edward Florentino, Jared Jones, Josh Tate, Dylan Palmer, and Shalin Polanco also recorded hits for Greensboro.
Outfielder George Wolkow led the Dash offensively, going 2-for-4 with two home runs, four RBI, and three runs scored. Infielder Wes Kath went 2-for-5 with one RBI and one run scored. Kyle Lodise added two hits, while Ely Brown, Javier Mogollon, and Jackson Appel each recorded one hit for Winston-Salem.
Right-handed pitcher Jack Anker made the start for Greensboro and struck out three batters while allowing three hits, three runs—two earned—and two walks over six innings. Left-handed pitcher Victor Cabreja earned the win for the Grasshoppers, improving to 6-4 on the season.
Right-handed pitcher Jake Curtis started for Winston-Salem, recording five strikeouts while allowing seven hits and five earned runs over six innings. Right-handed pitcher Aric McAtee took the loss for the Dash, falling to 3-5 on the season.
