Grasshoppers Fall to Dash in Final Game of Home Series

GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Greensboro Grasshoppers fell to the Winston-Salem Dash, 7-4, on Sunday, August 16, in the final game of their home series. With the win, Winston-Salem improved to 24-23 on the second half of the season, while Greensboro fell to 27-21. The Dash outhit the Grasshoppers, 11-10, as both teams committed one error.
Leading the Grasshoppers at the plate was infielder Jhonny Severino, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI. Designated hitter Edward Florentino followed with a 2-for-5 performance. Yordany De Los Santos, Shalin Polanco, Axiel Plaz, Carlos Caro, Dylan Palmer, and Josh Tate also recorded hits for Greensboro.
Jeral Perez led the Dash offensively, going 2-for-5 with two home runs, two doubles, three RBI, and three runs scored. Infielder Wes Kath followed with a 3-for-5 performance. George Wolkow recorded two hits, while Kaleb Freeman and Derek Cerda also contributed hits for Winston-Salem.
Right-handed pitcher Draven Zeigler started on the mound for Greensboro. He recorded two strikeouts while allowing three hits and three earned runs. Zeigler was charged with the loss and fell to 4-4 on the season.
Left-handed pitcher Justin Sinibaldi started for Winston-Salem and recorded four strikeouts while allowing five hits, three runs (two earned), and three walks over 5.2 innings. Sinibaldi earned the win and improved to 5-3 on the season.
