    Not a huge crowd, but a good crowd on hand today, to show support for High School Sports/Athletics in Guilford County…. The rally was held at the Guilford County Schools Education Offices on Eugene Street…We were outside, and it was HOT, but the group that gathered this morning(Wednesday), did get their point across… It was all about rallying support for high school sports in Guilford County for 2020… Mainly the rally was to show full support, for the Fall Sports this upcoming school year… Representatives were there from Southwest Guilford, Page, Ragsdale, Grimsley, Eastern Guilford, Southeast Guilford, Dudley and Northern…

    Northwest Guilford Competition Cheer Squad wins Carolina Cup at NCHSAA Cheer State Competition

    The Northwest Guilford High School Viking Cheer competition squad won the Carolina Cup yesterday at the NCHSAA Cheerleading Invitational at the Raleigh Convention Center. The Carolina Cup goes to the top overall squad at the NCHSAA Cheerleading Invitational. The Viking cheer squad won the Large Varsity Non Tumble Division and finished 1st overall out of 129 schools participating with an overall score of 85. 2nd place finisher Davie County finished three points back with a score of 82.     NCHSAA Cheerleading Invitational Championship Goes To Davie County

    RALEIGH – The 2017 NCHSAA Cheerleading Invitational Championship wrapped up a full day of competition featuring 153 cheerleading squads across all divisions at the Raleigh Convention Center. The Davie War Eagles took their first Carolina Cup with top overall honors in the 13th Invitational Championship in the history of the NCHSAA. Davie squads captured their sixth division title with the performance in the Varsity Co-Ed division. The NCHSAA awards four $500 scholarships annually, one to a cheerleader in each of the NCHSAA’s four classifications.     RALEIGH, N.C – The NCHSAA held its 14th annual Cheerleading Invitational Championships at the Raleigh Convention Center. Over 100 teams competed in the event and Leesville Road High School took home the top prize, the Carolina Cup, presented to the highest scoring team across each of the 18 Varsity Divisons in the Competition.
