After opening the ODAC tournament with a 1-0 win against Guilford College, the Wildcats beat Washington & Lee in the semi finals Wednesday night 2-0…Now it’s on to the Championship for Carter and the ‘Cats….They will play Virginia Wesleyan College Saturday night in Lynchburg for the ODAC title and the automatic bid to the NCAA tourney. Very nice win and a well-played game by the Randolph College Wildcats, in their 4-0 shutout win, at Guilford College last night…. Carter Smith(Grimsley High School) got the win in goal for the ‘Cats and you had to like his stats…. First of all, he is the biggest soccer goalie that I ever remember seeing….Carter Smith stands at 6’4 and weighs 235 and that would be big enough to be the starting tight end or the defensive end on this year’s Grimsley football team….The kid is good sized and I do remember another real tall goalie from our county’s past…
Soccer TONIGHT, with the Randolph College Wildcats at Guilford College to battle the Quakers…. Carter Smith, (Grimsley-grad), coming to town with his RC Wildcats , to open their ODAC conference play against the Guilford College Quakers. Randolph is entering the conference season with a record of 5-0-1. The Cat’s have been playing very sound soccer this season and are looking to duplicate their 2011 season when they advanced to the NCAA Sweet Sixteen round.
