Moore throws No-Hitter at HPC and Southeast Guilford sails

Clint Moore threw a five inning no-hitter for Grimsley on Tuesday as the Whirlies took two from High Point Central 14-0 in game one and 11-0 in game two helped by Moore’s no-hit pitching and nine big strikeouts.(amazing numbers strikeouts-per-innings-pitched for Moore on the year)  The game two win for Moore and Grimsley allowed GHS to out-score HPC 25-0 on the day.  Moore, Cody Walker, Ken Daly, Alan Craven, and Will Chasse hit the ball well for GHS in the twin-bill victories.

I made it down to the game at Southeast Guilford as they wore out Trinity behind the solid starting pitching of Cameron Cockman.  Ben Areno hit a home run and Jody Hackett nearly hit one out and Justin Venable sent one to the fence in left where a Trinity Bulldog dropped the ball allowing Venable to get all the way to third.  Southeast was up 6-0 when I took off just as the bottom of the 5th inning was complete.

While down at SEG I saw Northwest defeat Southeast in Girls Lacrosse 14-11.  The best Girls Soccer game of the day may have been NWG getting by HPC in 2OT 2-1.  Other boys baseball winners included Eastern, Page, Ragsdale, SWG, and Oak Ridge.
