Ragsdale and Southwest Guilford will meet in a showdown at Jamestown on Tuesday. This will be a re-match of last year’s playoff game between the Tigers and the Cowboys that Ragsdale stole in the bottom in the 7th inning, winning 2-1 on a wild throw that got past the third baseman allowing the winning run to score. Ragsdale beat AL Brown of Kannapolis 12-3 and SWG just got by Lake Norman 1-0 in round one. Ragsdale is rolling at 22-3 and SWG checks in at 21-5.
Elsewhere over the weekend the Grasshoppers continued their winning ways on the road beating the West Virginia Power twice up in West Virginny. The Carolina Dynamo got their season off on the right foot kicking Nashville 3-0 at Bryan Park. The Hoppers will be home on Tuesday night to take on West Virginia at First Horizon Park.
I saw Johnny Fairplay of Survivor fame at the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club on Saturday night. Johnny was in town with a young lady from the TV show America’s Next Top Model to watch the UWF wrestling at the Boys and Girls Club off of West Lee Street. Fairplay was here to see Raven take on D’ Lo Brown with Sgt. Slaughter as guest referee.    Â
