Clean sweep for the East in Atlanta

ATLANTA – We are live on the scene at the NHL All Star Weekend from Phillips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. Caniac Nation is well represented down here to see the greatest pro athlete to ever play in North Carolina, Eric Staal, represent the Hurricanes in tomight’s Dodge Superskills competition. greensborosports.com is the only local news outlet on the scene from Phillips Arena.

Before the game, we spotted Hurricanes coach Peter Laviolette in the concourse. He was there with his son enjoying the festivities.

Eric Staal is the lone Hurricane in this year’s game. He only participated in the Elimination Shootout competition, where he was stopped by San Jose goaltender Evgeni Nabokov.

The East won both the YoungStars game and the overall skills competition and will look to complete their mastery over the West tommorow at 6pm. We will be on scene with more live coverage.

  1. I Would love to see the Canes in the Stanley Cup Playoffs! After March Madness there isn’t much on( except for UNC baseball). Last I checked, they were 24-24 but still leading the Southeasten Division.
