Page defeated Grimsley in Lacrosse yesterday(Friday) and the Pirates Will Newman had 5 goals in the 13-7 victory. There is no doubt, Newman is the BEST Lacrosse player or participant in this city and he is better in Lacrosse than he is at football.
Don’t be surprised to see Newman get a full ride to a Lacrosse school in the Northeast part of the country. He might even have a shot at a combo football/lacrosse scholarship to some college in this area but I dobut it would be an ACC school offering up a combo deal. Usually if they get you for football they want you for football only…..
Page is (6-2) after the win and Grimsley falls to (7-5). Ask anybody around and they should tell you that Will Newman is the best Lacrosse player in this area and that his second best sport is football. Page has proven they are better than Grimsley and Will Newman has taken over the race for Player-of-the-Year.
On to the baseball scene, Northwest got past Page and the Pirates’ ace Zach Kornblum 3-0. NWG at Grimsley looks very big for next Tuesday. Grimsley routed Smith 15-2, Eastern eased past Southern 5-3, SWG smoked WS Carver twice, 19-0 and 7-2, Wesleyan was a winner and Vandalia beat another one of their top-rivals, Alamance Christian, 6-4 with John Grant and Tyler Biggs taking over.
What about Southeast Guilford-Asheboro? Hey Falcons, send us a score……
SEG 8
Asheboro 1
Thanks Sherri, and I also heard that Ragsdale lost to Southwest Randolph last week. Can anybody back that up?????
Word is that Moyer was on the mound for SEG in the win over Asheboro…..
Southwestern Randolph knocked off Ragsdale 13 – 5 last Wednesday to drop the Tigers to 5 -2 in conference and into a second place tie with Randleman. Ragsdale picked up two more wins over HP Christian (10 – 0) and ER (12-4) on Thur and Fri to move record to 14-3, 6-2
Good call Clipper, what about Jeter?
