The Greensboro Green Colt All-Stars dropped their game this aftenoon to Covina, California in the Colt World Series in Lafayette, Indiana.
Greensboro fell 7-4 as Covina had a big bottom of the sixth inning, including a big home run by Richie Pedroza to push them ahead 6-4. Lefty George Carter took the loss for Greensboro as he went 5 and a third innings and he struck out 7 and gave up three hits. Steven Mekita came on in relief to close out the game.
In the top of the 7th Greensboro Green went three-up, three-down, Corey McKinney grounded out to second, Cal Sutphin grounded out to the shortstop and then Steven Mekita was gone on a called strike three.
I listened to the game on HoosierAuthority.com and that’s how I was able to grab some of our stats. At the plate today for Greensboro Tivon Clark was 2-3 with a triple and an RBI, Mike Whited was 1-2 with a double, John Bethea went 1-3 with a double and and RBI, Cal Sutphin was 1-3 with an RBI and Corey Mckinney went 1-3 and he had an RBI.
Greensboro Green falls today 7-4, but they return to action on Saturday afternoon at 5pm vs. the Host team Hoosier North.
