Southeast overwhelms Southwest 41-0

Tivon Clark rushed for 224 yards and four touchdowns on 26 carries to pace Southeast Guilford to an easy 41-0 road win over Southwest Guilford. Alex Harrison chipped in 97 yards on 15 rushes as the Falcons ground game was going full tilt the entire evening.

Southeast opening their scoring spree with a 10yd Clark run to conclude a 11 play 61 yard six minute plus march late in the first period. Midway thru the 2nd the Cowboys of Southwest caught a break as Andrew Hays recovered a Clark fumble on the Southeast 32. But after getting to the doorstep of the Falcons goal line the Cowboys were denied by a goal line stand that signified a turning point in the fortunes of both teams.

Southeast responded to the goal line stand to drive not just the whole nine yards, but the whole ninety nine yards in just seven plays as Kenyata Robinson went in from the five to give Southeast a 14-0 edge at intermission.

After intermission things went from bad to worse for Southwest as Southeast turned an interception on the Cowboys first drive of the 2nd half into a 7 play 52 yard scoring march as Clark scored his 2nd on a two yard burst to make the score 21-0. Another turnover on Southwest next possession led to another quick score as Clark scored from the four with 5:38 left in the 3rd to make it a four touchdown game.

In the final period the rout continued as Clark scored on a 38 yard jaunt to conclude his evening then Harrison sprinted in from seventeen yards away for the coup de grace.

  1. Good to see Tavon Clark doing so well. One of the fastest kids I have ever seen. Great kid. Good Luck to Tavon from the Ragsdale community—–except when you play Ragsdale. 😉
