Julius Brooks signs with Loyola of Maryland with mucho photos

The big center, 6’9 Julius Brooks, made it official today as he signed with Loyola of Maryland in a special ceremony at the Page High School Media Center.

Julius has been one of the top basketeball players for Coach Robert Kent and his Pirates for the past several years and now he is prepared to take his game to the next level with former Grimsley hoops star Matt Kovarik, the assistant head coach at Loyola.

Good luck to Julius and his family.

Thanks to Rusty Lee, Robert Kent and the Page staff for having us over there this afternoon for the signing.

  1. Good info on Patsos…Never heard of him, but glad to hear about Kovarik.

Tough working with your own press releases, I barely had to time to look up the correct spelling of Kovarik’s name and Matt K’s dad was at the Page Pirate Press Conference.

Hopefully some good pictures coming our way soon……

  2. Great pics! I noticed josh cobb in the pics as well. did he sign somewhere?

  3. To my knowledge Josh hasn’t signed so far. He had a super year at Southeast Guilford and he can play the point and he might have a shot at a #2 guard spot also. I have watched Josh since he was in the 9th or 10th grade and I like his game. Best suited for where, that is up in the air….Something on the level of Greensboro College or Guilford maybe higher, that is for debate. WSSU or NC Central or others???? They will have to make the call…..

Josh was in the picture with Coach Rodney Westmoreland and family. Coach Westmoreland has done a tremendous job helping the kids in our city and Coach W’s son was instrumental in getting Julius Brooks noticed up at Loyola. Coach RW has given his all and he has a great family to prove my point.

  4. Thanks Andy. I know Josh is the nephew of Coach Westmoreland, so that explains why he was there.
