  1. according to maxpreps TJ Logan from Northern Guilford recorded 24 rushes for 269 yards (1 rush of 74 yards) and 5 TDs. He also had 1 catch for 3 yards and 1 punt return for 25 yards. Responsible for 30 of the nighthawks 55 points against mcmichael.

  2. TJ Logan of Northern Guilford had 269 yards on 24 carries and 5TDs last Friday against McMichael High School.

  3. c’mon man, Northern played a team that was 2-4 and it was stat night. Give me a break. I have to go with Pawlowski at NW, he brought his team from behind, i think he must of rushed for at least 5 key first downs, completed passes on 4th down for a 1st down late in the game along with a TD pass on 4th down. He kept NW in the game for the incredible comeback, 18 point deficet against a 6-1 playoff bound team. Sometimes stats don’t tell the real story but this kid put on a show against great competition. The other thing I like about this kid is that he is COOL under pressure and took alot of late hits all night long but Ragsdale never rattled the kid. Great indivdual Performance and great Team performance by everyone at NW to make this happen.

  4. Shouldn’t you be writing about how great your offensive line is “C’mon Man”! You had Reid Baxter voted in for his totals against Western Guilford,
talking about stat night! How about TJ’s stats against NW – 20 carriers for 191 yards & 2 TD’s. Oh, I almost forgot and THE WIN!!

  5. DUDLEY QB Hayes accounted for 207 total yards against S. E. Guilford with 133 passing yards and 2 TD’S. He also carried the ball 12 times for 74 yards 40 of which came on the final drive with a little under two minutes left in the game to help the Panthers drive from their own 6 yard line to the SE 27 yard line with two big third and long runs to keep the drive alive before he was injured. Backup QB Slade came in and sealed the deal with a huge scramble and a TD pass of his own. Remember SE was 6-1 and Dudley was 2-4. Great job PANTHERS!!! WHO SAYS YOU CAN’T THROW THE BALL

  6. TJ did not win against NW because Ryan Johnston was destroying that heralded O-LINE. Ryan won that week!
Still think TJ should win, he did most of his damage in the first half.

  7. You know, I’m about tired of so-called “adults” getting on this site & others, putting down KIDS!!!! Be a fan, but for goodness sakes, QUIT knocking our area kids in your attempt to show devout loyalty to your team!! At the end of the day, Guilford County high school football fans should be ecstatic just knowing that come any given Friday night during season, you can witness talented performances by a whole slew of kids! And yes, unfortunately Andy, there are a lot of kids who don’t read this site because of the negativity! I’m realistic enough to know that you can’t control everything that’s said, but we all should at least be mindful that we’re sitting at home judging teenagers! I doubt any of you griping about a kid even have a kid that plays or played football! If you do or did, shame on you even more! Fan pride doesn’t give you the right to use this forum to say things that I have to believe you wouldn’t walk up & say to a kids face, much less, his parents! Quit hiding behind the anonymity these forums allow!

BTW, TJ Logan & Reid Baxter, are without a doubt , two of the top Junior (2013) running backs in the state! What they receive in accolades are warranted. Let’s be proud of that & all the other kids in our community who are doing Guilford County proud!! Here’s wishing all the young men well, who practice hard everyday to give us FANS something to cheer about come Friday night! Just sayin . . . . . .

  8. i think they got southeast and dudley stats missed up on last friday night. 8-13 for 107 yards sounds like what southeast threw for instead of dudley. i know dudley threw the ball about 20 times for close to 200 yards. i know for a fact that dudley compiled 105 yards just on two passes with a 40 yard pass from hayes to adrian slade and a 65 yards TD pass from hayes to McCorkle. mistakes happen though lol go PANTHERS!!

  9. I think sometimes the kids read this and get a chuckle, seeing how crazy some of the adults can get……..It can get wild, but I hope we can hold it all in the road…..We only have three weeks left in the regular season and some of those junior runningbacks are really looking good and putting up some good numbers when you stop and think about it……TJ Logan(NG), Reid Baxter(NWG), Malik Mosley(SG), Marquez Eleazor(Ragsdale) and I haven’t heard much from Larry EdwardsSWG), but I would take it that he is having an OK season…..Big key with those junior backs that are doing well….Means you are good this year and you should be good next year too……I believe the kid at Grimsley that got off to real good start, De’Sean Jones, I think he is only a junior……..

We have some real talent in Guilford County……..

  10. Gotta give the nod to NWG Senior QB Matt Pawlowski, kid had ice running through his veins against Ragsdale. 16 of 26 for 201 passing with no interceptions and 2TD’s against the number 1 defense in the conf. in Ragsdale!!!!! Not to take anything away from TJ Logan.. kid is dynamite but rushing for 269 against one of the conferences worst defenses??? Is there even a debate?

  11. I was at the game and Matt Pawlowski had a great game and probably deserve to win this week. I think the NW coach holds Matt back too much and almost waited to late to begin passing the ball. But I will say that it will be a total shame if Logan does not win this award at least once because he has performed week in and week out.

While Summers is probable “pre-slated” for player of the year, I believe Logan is currently second. I would also like to say that “voting” for player of the week by biased fan bases is not the way to choose the best player.

  12. I still like the WFMY approach…..I almost went this route on high school game of the week last year, but NEWS 2 hit on the idea first…..I kind of like the voting idea, cause it gives the fans input and allows them to have voice…..Our game of the week this week was going to be Rockingham County at Northern Guilford and then RC fell out when they lost to Eastern Guilford last Friday night….Now we are heading to Western Guilford for the Hornets and the Dudley Panthers….RIght now we are looking for the Big Game each week and this one would should still be Big with Dudley(3-0) Conference and Western at (3-1)…..Has the makings of a good matchup and we look forward to seeing the Panthers and Hornets on Friday night…..

The popular vote approach has set the world on fire with the American Idol and the Dancing with the Stars shows on TV, but in the end you have to have a final judge and we have that here in me…I can make the final call all the time if I feel the vote did not go through the uprights right….You have to have that type of discernment……

I did almost swallow my chewing tobacco when Tyler Campbell and Curtis Smith both said they were on FOX 8 first last week…..NEWS 2 is almost like a partner to/with us….Brian Hall sends us video and he sends it on regular basis and that is what keeps me on 2 too……We will do all we can to put Brian on the map….He writes, produces. shoot video and pictures plus he does a lot of work behind the scenes that people never see and we will push Brian Hall for all he does and he is a Ben L. Smith grad if my graduation numbers serve me correctly……

What Coach Turk and the 102 crew do is good and do work hard….Many times they get scores from us on Friday nights and they in turn send us scores and we know they do good work….The station they work with, 102, is in the same building with our AM950 and they are owned by the same people…..Coach Turk used to run camera for Friday Football Fever back in the Mike Hogewood, Sam Crenshaw and Scott Pryzwanski days of the Fever and Brian Hall was even with them back then…..Brian was the first “Fever Man” for WFMY TV 2…..

I love to discuss these type of topics and they do involve a ton of history and I remeber talking about some of these same issues with Charlie Harville back in the day/days……

It’s all, all good and I don’t even get see much of the Friday shows at all days…Too busy coming back from the games and trying to get to the site and make sure nobody has hit a sour note that night that might spoil our Post-Game Party…….

Keep bringing it and we will keep on discussing/talking about it and we will all get it right when we hit 2020/20-20……..

Good stuff and bring in some more comments on the American Idol/DWTS voting procedures and the Friday night football shows and don’t forget our good friends Robbie, Gary, Danny, Abbey, David and Clark at Power Team Sales……

  13. Correction Andy, 3 of the 4 players chose Fox 8. I hate to part ways w/ you, but this new style of voting, whether it be for American Idol or anything else is all about ratings! Sure, producers are ecstatic w/ the response! It’s one more way to guarantee a strong following. News 2 is only following suit! However, these kids aren’t on some national tv show being broadcast to millions! They are working their tails off 4 days a week to perform as a team every Friday night! Why don’t we just let the “fans” determine (w/ a popularity vote) the next state and/or national rankings why we’re at it! Who needs you sportswriters anyway?! lol I’m willing to bet that the media outlets covering the Charlotte metro area determine for themselves the Game(s) of the Week based on records, competitive matchups, serious rivalry games, etc. I grew up w/ News 2 & worked w/ Charlie Harville, Lee Kinard & Sandra Hughes in many different capacities over the years & I think they too would be a little disappointed in Gannett owned (USA Today) News 2’s fluff, popularity contest I’m a diehard high school football fan & I’d much rather trust people who follow all the teams, instead of fans, to make this call!

Again, props to Coach Turk & his crew for staying “old school” on this one! Just because everyone else seems to be doing something a particular way, doesn’t always mean it’s the best way for you! Sometimes “change” isn’t always for the better! Thanks for the consistent coverage WGHP Fox 8 & WXII 12!

  14. I’m a big fan of GreensboroSports.com and I am an avid reader of a few NFL Blogs (BloggingtheBoys) for you Dallas Cowboys fans! I would love to see a section added to this website that would allow us fans to add stories and write-ups to site. Maybe call it FanPosts or FanShots!

  15. I agree with Panther Man and the witness QB Hayes has been pulling his Oline together and working towards a winning combination. I don’t know whose doing the stats but they have been off and cutting his stats. The junior QB needs some recognition for a job well done. Don’t let the non-conferance games fool you about Dudley.

  16. Hang in there everyone……Was it Jim McKay that once said, “settng the pace for others to follow”…..That’s us here at Greensborosports.com…..If everybody runs off with 102, TV8 and TV 12, you end up leaving your home skillet……Just keep this in mind as you might stray away, “Carolina(Greensborosports.com) here I come, right back where I started from”…..
