Tyler Lewis could be the best HS point guard in the country for 2012:Check out the video and see what you think?

Tyler Lewis was at Forsyth Country Day and now he is at Oak Hill Academy, in Mouth of Wilson, Virginia and we have a new video on Tyler, showing his overall point guard skills….Check it out and see what you think and you might agree that he could be, the top high school point guard in the nation, this season……CLICK HERE to see the video and if you like watching basketball and especially top guards that can handle the ball, then you are going to like this video from YouTube….

I knew Tyler had the ball handling and passing skills, but the thing that impresses me the most, is how he uses the backboard on his approach shots to the side of the basket and even on his direct takes to the hole…..He really knows how to put the ball up and off of the glass to avoid blocks and you watch how he puts the ball on the glass, as opposed to how close or far away he is from the basket and he has this down to a science…..Watching him put the ball up there, you can tell he knows exactly what he is doing with it and he knows before he shoots the ball where and how it is going to go up….To me, that is something that you can’t teach….You have to develop it, with hours upon hours of hard work alone, just out there shooting and studying what you can and must do with the ball…..It is a science and Tyler Lewis is a basketball point guard specialist/scientist…….

Check it/check him out…..Fun to watch and you may want to try this down at the end of your street, by yourself, when nobody else is looking…..

  1. Best in the nation? Highly unlikely, kid still has game though. He isn’t even the top ranked PG in NC State’s 2012 class, Purvis is.

  2. I think Lewis will be a great catch for N.C. State. He originally committed to Coach Sidney Lowe when he was still at State and then Gottfried made sure that Tyler Lewis was still on board when he took over…..The Wolfpack got a good one when they got this kid and he will start at point guard one day for the Pack, just wait and see. I may see him reshirting his first year in Raleigh. Lorenzo Brown due to start this year at PG in 2011-’12 and he would be a senior when Lewis would enter the lineup as a R-freshman. I see Purivs as a two guard with Lewis together in the backcourt. When Purvis committed he said he was looking forward to playing in the same backcourt with Lewis and he called Lewis his brother, ‘White Chocolate’. That is the way is see it anyway. The experience at Oak Hill should be a great one and real good fit for Lewis. He is going to prove a lot of you wrong who say he can’t overcome the taller defenders. He will do it with speed, quickness and ball handling skills. Hope all of you saw the video. Didn’t see all that I was looking for, but I am sold on what we were able to look at. If there is a better point guard in the nation in the Class of 2012 where is he? I want to see this guy and again, I don’t see Purvis as a true point. He plays more like a two guard. Purvis and Lewis should work well together at N.C. State.

  3. Who’s to say that Lewis and Purvis won’t end up set up in the same backcourt at N.C. State? Remember Fire and Ice, Chris Corchiani and Rodney Monroe? Tyler Lewis doesn’t have the same girth and he isn’t as thick as Corchiani was, but in the end, I think he can be a better passer than Chris was and that’s saying a lot……

Lewis will get stronger and we might see Purvis light it up like Rodney Monroe did at State……He lit up Greensboro Day for something like 53 points in the first game of the season last year, when Purvis’ Upper Room faced the Bengals in game one of the year on a Friday afternoon at Wesleyan in High Point…..Maybe Purvis can score half that many per game at N.C. State(26.2 per game) and Lewis can dish out 10-12 assists per contest and we have ourselves a ‘real deal’…..Fire and Ice then and now later on Lewis and Purvis…..Let’s do it……..
