High School Basketball for Tonight 12/6/11

Western Guilford at Northeast Guilford….WG girls are (4-0) and NEG boys are unbeaten….The boys game could be one of the key to see at NEG and I think we will be there for both of these…..

Southern Guilford at Ragsdale….Girls game a toss-up as Sylvia Bass could be out for SG with injury and the boys game could turn out to be a race of up and down the court basketball, with the team that is in the best shape winning and Ragsdale has a deliberate still this year and I was impressed with their inside passing game and many of their cuts last night vs. Western….

North Davidson at Page….First look at Page since the football players have come back and they will need to get their basketball legs underneath them…..Will be the first game for Page boys this season…Page girls should be (2-1) and now have the serivces of Paris Kea full time…..

George Washington Danville at Dudley….Boys game always a good one and they had a few shootouts 2-3 years back when P.J. Hairston was with Dudley and C.J. Barksdale was with GW Danville….Dudley girls are primed and will be hard for anyone to stop right now….Smith Golden Eagles get a chance on Friday night, but for now it will be the GW Danville Eagles with the Tuesday night shot…..

East Forsyth at Southeast Guilford….SEG girls are (5-0) and on the boys side, Malik Wright had 37 points last Friday night and was to just 9 on Monday evening….

McMichael at Northern Guilford….NG football men are back with Daniel Downing, T.J. Logan and John McBeth stepping in to help out the Nighthawks and all three should start tonight if they are feeling right…Patrick Chandler, Will Mullikin and D.C. Arendas will glad to see them….Hope Amanda Coffer is feeling alright….She turned that ankle last week and the Nighthawks need her a full strength tonight…..

High Point Central at Asheboro
Bishop McGuinness at North Stokes
Wesleyan at Northside Christian in Charlotte
Forsyth Home Schoolers at High Point Christian……..

  1. Our Western Guilford girls basketball team is no longer the powder puffs that has taken second seat to everyone else in the conference. Coach Polk has brought the fire and brimstone and we fear no teams in this conference. Sure everyone picks Dudley, but let me tell you, Southern Alamance, Smith, Southeast and Page will not be laying down this year and allowing Dudley to run the table. No not this year. We have several candidates for Player of the year in this conference:

Brittany Clency- Western Guilford; Front Runner
    Shayla Burnett: Southern Alamance
    Kenya Hailey: South East Guilford
    Zhan Greer: Smith
    Paris Kea- Page

Yes , in this order. So do not be surprise to see several teams step it up this year. We are not surprise to be 4-0 right now. We expect it.
