Coach David Hines, from Cherokee High School, new head football coach at Eastern Guilford….

From Lexington, N.C originally and a graduate of UNC-Wilmington….Was offensive coordinator(2 years) at Cherokee and is still the head baseball coach there…..

Was head football coach at Chocowinity(Southside High School) and moved on from there to Cherokee….

Coach Hines played high school football at North Davidson and received a major influence from his middle school coach, Coach Steve Everhart, at North Davidson Middle….Coach Everhart instilled discipline in coach Hines at an early age and Coach Everhart is still doing the same at NDMS today….Big part of what Coach Hines is looking to do at Eastern Guilford….

Coach Hines looks forward to building the program at Eastern Guilford and he was able to build a solid program at Chocowinity(Southside High School) and saw his numbers increase there every year….Record(5-27) did not reflect the overall improvement, but the growth of the program was evident by the increased numbers of players….

Has been an assistant at Northern Vance, Fayetteville Byrd, Cherokee and was the head coach at Southside….*****This was a must in the hiring of Coach David Hines….It was a major priority for Eastern Guilford to hire a new head football coach, with head coaching experience and Coach Hines has it, in football and baseball…..*****
