Girls Basketball:The Area’s Top 1500 Point Producers over the last five years

NOTE: Below is the top scoring producers and their records along with
accomplishments during their highschool career with in the last five years. These
young student athletes are to be commended for a job well done based on outstanding
individual productivity. It exemplifies hard and dedicated work because this is not
something that anyone could have done given another set of circumstances. They set
the mark and made it happen based on where they were at. If you know of any student
athlete that scored over 1500 points and is left off this list, please be sure to
send in the appropriate data. Keep in mind that the numbers are based on the Varsity
level of play and no JV basketball production can be included.

1. Miranda Jenkins:Eastern Guilford: 1880 career points: 85 wins and 28 losses 75%
winning: 42 wins and 5 losses in conference 89.3% winning: 3 Conference
Championships: 2 Conference Tournament Championships: 3 State Sectional Championship
Apperances: One State Sectional Second Round appearance. College :Stonybrook

“What they are saying” A complete player that plays both ends of the floor and
hustles all the time. A player that can take over a game both offensively and
defensively and can put a team on her back and lead them. A very unselfish player
that does not need a lot of shots to be effective or productive. One of few players
that can create their own shot from mid range with jumpers, floaters and steals to
knocking down three’s and freethrows. A shut down defender.Plays the game with
smarts and intensity and plays at another level the larger the game. A player that
makes other players around her better.

Highlite of Career: All Area, All Regional and Greensborosport Player of the Year as
senior: Conference MVP as Senior and Co MVP as Sophomore: First Team All State NC
Preps as Senior: NC Preps 3A All State as Senior. Conference Tournament MVP as
senior: First Team All Conference as Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior and Senior. All
Area Third team as Junior: Honorable Mention All Area as Sophomore: Don Amos All
Christmas Tournament Team as Sophomore and Eastern Guilford All Christmas Tournament
Team as Junior and Senior. Second Team All Region as Junior and Honorable Mention as
Sophomore. All Time playoff leading scorer at 24.5 ppg.

2. Samantha Coffer: Northern Guilford: 1812 career points: 67 wins and 37 losses
64.4% winning: 37 wins and 19 losses in conference 66% winning: One Conference
Championship: One Conference Tournament Championship: One Sectional Championship
apperance: Two second round appearances. College: Elon University in Elon, North
Carolina: Division I: Southern Conference: Signed during early period:

“What they are saying” A post player that has a nice shot and can score. A better
than average freethrow shooter. A good rebounder that can drive by larger opponents
from the freethrow line in. Good at blocking shots and handles ball effectively. A
good team player. A player that is consistent and was the cornerstone for Northern
Guilford program for four years as a starter. One of the most productive post
players to come out of this area.

senior and junior: Second Team as Sophomore: Third Team as Freshmen. NC Preps First
Team All State as senior. NC Preps 3A All State as senior. Conference Tournament
MVP as junior. Conference All Tournament as junior and senior. All pizza hut

3. Brittany Clency: Western Guilford: 1771 career points: 45 wins and 54 losses 45%
winning: 24 wins and 29 losses in conference 45% winning in conference: One second
round apperance. College: University of South Carolina Upstate in Spartinburg, South
Carolina: Division 1: Atlantic Conference; Signed during late signing period.

“What they are saying” A player that had a solid career and a good scorer.A player
that scored a lot of points but team never got over the hump.A good slasher to the
basket both left and right with a pull up. A player whose game stayed about even. A
pretty even keel type player but frustrations mounted as team folded down the
stretch.

time All Conference: All Area First Team as Senior,Third team as Sophomore and
Honorable Mention as a Freshmen.

4. Zena Lovette: Southwest Guilford:1691 career points: 89 wins and 27 losses: 76%
winning: 42 wins and 4 losses in conference 91% winning in conference: 3 conference
Championships: 3 Conference Tournament Championships: Two State Sectional Second
Round Appearances: One State Championship: One Regional Appearance: College:
Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina: Division I: Big South
Conference; Signed during late signing period.

“What they are saying” A player that uses quickness and has nice jumper to go along
with it. A player that scored a lot of points on leak outs. A good anticipator and
penetrator to basket. A player that had less turnovers when moved to the two
position during senior year. A player that was one of the catalyst for their State
Championship run. A good freethrow shooter. A player that does a good job during a
full court press. A winner that was one of the parts to Southwest Guilford solid
four years.

junior and senior: AP All State selection as Junior and Senior: Conference Player of
the Year as Junior and Senior. NC Basketball Coaches Player of the Year as Senior:
Four time All Conference selection: Conference Tournament MVP as Junior and Senior:
Regional MVP as Junior: Most Outstanding player in State Championship game (Teammate
Jessica Pone was MVP). All Area first team as Junior and Senior and Honorable
mention as freshmen and sophomore: First Team All Christmas Tournament Sophomore,
Junior and Senior.
