Now that the Summer AAU girls basketball season is over and one last tournament for coaches to watch either seniors or up and coming players is during the first week end in October. Most coaches at this time will have already had their first choice players that are seniors to attend their respective campus on an official visits. This is to insure that their commitment is firm when they sign on the early signing period in November. Most schools wil have on average about three scholarships. Those scholarships will be offered to the players that they have been following for…
These are players from this past AAU season that have stood out and are or could become college basketball prospects in the coming year(s). Getting a scholarship is not a certainty whether its D1, D2, D3 or Juco. Assessing ones own talent and ability should be judge by their performance and work habits that are demonstrated either through their highschool efforts or through AAU experience. The NCAA has rules in place as far as the process goes all year round. Coaches watch kids during the Spring, Summer and Fall because of time constraints. For seniors that are being recruited and…

June is going to be a very critical month for prospective girls and boys basketball players as school comes to an end this week. Many students are going to be looking forward to what they veiw as vacation time and they should. But for the serious athlete it is critical that they use this time to better their game and participate in their summer leagues so that their coach can get a better idea of whom will be on the team when November rolls around. It also allows them to become better acquainted with the teammates. It also allows them…

The NCAA girls and boy basketball seasons are about to conclude with in the next few days and there are still many unsigned seniors for DI basketball programs. In the coming weeks some kids will draw interest and many will not; Most will draw interest from either D2 , D3 or JUCO type schools. Some student athletes will get a final look for some sort of senior day camp where a few schools will attend to see if there is anything there that may spark their interest. One word of caution, be careful spending money at these camps that may…
There has been a lively discussion about High School Baseball and personally, I wished I had not closed the forum because it would be better suited in that environment. (We will re-open the forum before school starts back.) When a person comments, they can leave a Name and Email Address, which does not necessarily have to be real. However, all commenters have their IP Address logged. I have noticed that there are several comments from the SAME IP ADDRESS with different names and email addresses. Given the nature of the IP Address, it’s pretty safe to say we have somebody…

Andy and his buddies have this thing where they go out and play every year no matter the weather. So today as we watch some sports that play in the confines of enclosed domes and coliseums, we have to remember the fun that we can have just playing in all sorts of weather.
