  1. Just wondering are there only 3 and sometime 4 players on this team with the last name robinson?

  2. Those Robinson boys are excellent baseball players! They are as tough as they come!

They have played GBC BB since diapers. any HS would be lucky to have them!

  3. KIR – no one is questioning those boys. Have you watched any of their games. I suggest you do and you would agree that they would have trouble beating any JV squads in Guilford County (Public Schools).

  4. I remember a few years ago, Vandalia had a kid from their team(Mike Wilson) make the Braves(Atlanta) farm system as a pitcher….Many people around town remember Big Mike Wilson…He made it to the minors by way of a tryout as a pitcher….Vandalia had a kid from last year’s team, AJ WIlliams, and he is in college playing baseball at Central or at Shaw….Nick Taylor out of Vandalia was/is playing college ball at Catawba….Vandalia and Shining Light are pretty much right there on the same level…..You could be seeing kids just like those out of Vandalia at Shining Light….KIR knows his baseball, and I seen many of his comments over the years and if he says they played GBC, then they played GBC…..Shining Light, under the direction of Danny Robinson, has done a very good job of getting their name out there….

  5. Dave, I have not seen SLA play but I know that the 3 Robinsons w/ Trevor Clemons and Caleb Webster and 4 others would beat about every GC jv team. Caleb R is soph and he would be starting on any varsity HS team around. the others are younger but they would probably all be playing varsity except for the top GC teams. They all grew up playing at the highest level GBC teams and they are still there playing for GBC prepstars.

  6. not saying those boys aren’t good, because they definitely are good players. just never see any of the other players listed in the articles. that is all i meant by that comment.
