More news on tonight’s High School Football Scrimmages???(Looks like now we have reports on all games from last night)

from the Witness:

Dudley 42 Mount Tabor 6…. Dudley dominated the entire scrimmage! Mount Tabor scored on the last play of the scrimmage pretty much against the 3rd stringers… Dudley looked GOOD….

from Incognito:

Ragesdale looked impressive tonight! Defense dominated and gave up maybe two first downs the entire scrimmage…Ragsdale 30, Clover 0

Northern Guilford 21
Chesterfield, S.C. 0

Page-Eastern Alamance:
EA and Page were pretty even in their scrimmage with both teams having some bright spots mixed in with a lot of sloppy plays on the wet field. Neither teams offense scored against the first team defenses during the game type scrimmage, but both teams eventually moved the ball as the reserves came in on defense. I thought Page’s #43 (not sure if the same number they will wear during the season) was one of the more impressive players out there. Huge defensive end (about 6’7) that gave EA fits until he got banged up and Page’s QB had some nice throws. Both teams should be pretty good this year.

Northwest-Northeast Guilford:
NW Guilford looked really good on offense and defense last night. The scrimmage was half field going in from the defensive 40yard line 10 plays on offense then 10 on defense. While NW’s 1st team was in they scored about every 4-5 plays. NW seems to have about 6 or 7 running backs that carried the ball and truth is they are all pretty good. When the starting defense was on the field they pretty much shut NE Guilford down. I think NE might of scored 2 TD’s all night against the starters. Overall NW looked good but remember it was just a practice game. Can’t wait to see how they will look next week when its a full game.

  1. Any news on the how the other scrimmages went?

We got word that NWG got moved to NEG, and we got that, but any report on the srimmage? How about Page or Grimsley….We can’t be at them all so we need reports from others on others from these games….I thought Joe was still the Page man, but he may have moved on…We’ll keep an eye open for more news thoroughout the day…Some say if it doesn’t hit here then it doesn’t happen and sometimes I tend to agree….We’ll see and we will be in Rockingham County on Friday….

  4. Smith ran all over Carver tonight! Defense was crackin heads and Offense is miles ahead of last years team. People are going to make jokes but this Smith team is going to be better than the one from 2 years ago bet on it. Defense was dropping some huge hits all over the field. Heres another one for everyone out there that thinks Smith aint going to be any good…..better think again!

    Metro Final Standings
    Smith
    Dudley
    SE
    Page
    Grimsley
    SA
    Western

  5. Man you guys looked average against an average 2A team. Last year you beat some team outta Durham and you guys ended with how many wins? You guys ran some gimmick no huddle stuff in a scrimmage, didn’t let Carver prepare for it then got into a shouting match with the other coach. I bet Page, Dudley and SE will be waiting for it. If there were officials there’d been flags flying all night. See you in a couple weeks

  6. Who runs a hurry up no huddle in a scrimmage? I guess the Triad will see how that Smith defense will be crakin against NW next week.

  7. Like I said make all the jokes you want Page! didn’t you guys talk the same kind of trash a couple years ago when we came into your stadium and put the hurt on yall? yes you beat us last year but that was because we had 20 starters graduate……Page fans and players act like you won the state title again this year just cause your name is Page! Teams don’t fear the pirates and yall don’t have Summers to save you whenever something goes wrong! See you in a few weeks!!!!!!!

  8. I saw Smith earlier in the summer in a 7 on 7 tourney at NG. Small problem, they played with 8 on defense. Interestingly it ended with coaches yelling at each other too. Got to see the game situation part of the Grimsley SW scrimmage. Grimsley looks to be much improved. Their OL is huge. Hope everybody attends a game next Friday. Support your favorite team. I can smell the popcorn and hear the band!
