  5. Some info on Southern Guilford over Central Davidson: Kip Brandenbeg tossed a complete game 2 hit shutout. Nick Goard was 3 for 3. Ryan Caveness drove in both SG runs with a double.

  6. My Ledford Panthers took care of business last night! SW way over rated. Goes to show what happens when they someone that has a pulse! We deserve more hype than them

  7. Here’s another interesting note from Friday night baseball:

One of Mecklenburg County’s most competitive high school baseball rivalries renewed itself Friday as the Providence Panthers traveled to Ardrey Kell to play the first of two regular-season games with the Knights.

The rivalry game did not disappoint. Providence broke open a close game late in an 8-6 win over Ardrey Kell. The Providence Panthers are unbeaten overall at 8-0 and in the SoMeck 8 conference at 4-0.

  8. Amazed Panthers at how SW is overrated after they had one bad game. What’s that say about Ledford? “Congratulations, you beat an overrated team.” Just saying. Ledford does have good talent but if you look at the stats, they were about even across the board (except for runs and RBIs and we all know that’s the bottom line). Ledford did a great job of hitting the middle of SW pitching and capitalized on scoring opportunities, SW did not, it happens. Let’s see how it all plays out by season’s end.
