Elon Men’s Golf Phoenix Completes Round Two of Clemson Invitational

SALEM, S.C. – The Elon University men’s golf team is in ninth place after the second round of play at the Clemson Invitational on Saturday, April 2, at the Cliffs at Keowee Falls golf course.

The Phoenix completed the second round with 312 (+24) and are in ninth place after 36 holes of play. The host, No. 11-ranked Clemson, tops the leaderboard after shooting a two over-par 290 and lead overall with a 10-under 566 after two rounds.

HIGHLIGHTS
Charlie May finished with a Phoenix-low 76 in the second round and is in a tie for 25th individually after two rounds of play.

Right behind him are Troy Beaver and Jonathan DiIanni. Beaver finished with a six-over 77 and is at 150 overall after two rounds of play. DiIanni carded a 79 and is third among Elon players with a 151 two-round total.

In addition for the Phoenix, Jake Leavitt carded an 80 on day two and has a 161 (+12) two round total heading into the final round. Philip Loeb has a 161 (+17) after two days of play after finishing with an 84 in the second round.

The Phoenix will compete in the final round of the Clemson Invitational tomorrow, April 3, at the Cliffs of Keowee Falls golf course.
