  1. Yes on HPCA and I was going to guess you guys at about 12 or 13, but MaxPreps had you at 11 wins…

You guys need to get updated over at MaxPreps…

    Thanks for the update,

    AD

  2. HPCA is on MaxPreps, they just don’t have the updated record and the schedule is not up to date….

Southeast Guilford does have a very good lineup ready for that Southern Alamance game tonight with Alexander at first, Benson at second, Caleb Smith at SS and Rodriguez at third base…Very steady infield there….Justin Guy is very reliable and he is a dependable leadoff man in the batting lineup too…SEG may well be missing Bartley and Brothers coming out of last Friday night’s game with Northern Guilford and we will have to see how the SEG Falcons fill in for those two missing Outfielders and they will miss Bartley’s bat up at around the #2 spot in the lineup, but with all of that said and done, SEG should still be OK and it will come down to pitching….It was told to us that Chris Shiebley will be back this week, but that may come later in the week possibly vs. Richmond County on Saturday….Jalen Guy, Austin Coble and Thorne Alley should all be ready and they will have one of the best all-around catchers in our area back their receiving for them behind the plate in Austin McDade….He has a good bat and his defense is way more than adequate back there behind the dish…

Southern Alamance will present a very good challenge to SEG’s home field advantage at Kevin Callahan Field, but this game will be played in cold weather with some prevailing winds and that might be a factor too…

Who can overcome the cold and the wind and win???

On most night’s that would SEG and these usually split during the regular season so if you don’t win at home, you win down there in Graham…

Good luck to all the teams tonight, but the SEG-SA meeting may be your best matchup….

Good game looming too with NEG-Rockingham County….Jay and Angel Zarate are two of the better players in the Mid-State 3-A and they could give the NEG Rams problems….Zeb Williams, Gavin Taylor and the big first baseman/pitcher are very good threats for the RC Cougars too….
(I remembered the kid’s name before I had to look him up, it was Tony Deluna for RC at first and on the mound.)
Stay warm if you can tonight and I wonder if former NEG Ram pitcher Luis Paula will be in town with the West Virginia Power this week when they visit the Greensboro Grasshoppers???

  3. In regard to the write up above about SE catcher. McDade does a great job – he’s a great kid. There are 4 catchers I know of that are big
Time catchers . Caveness @ Southern, Fishvoght @ HPCA, Clemons @ Randleman, Robinson @ Eastern in no particular order. Again this no knock on MCDade but these other guys are on another level.

  4. You make a good point and I agree, we have some very good catchers around here…The four you mentioned are really something special…
