SOUTHERN ALAMANCE 3, GREENSBORO GRIMSLEY 2: At Mt. Hermon, Southern Alamance scored two runs in the fifth inning, taking advantage of an error, and the Patriots edged Greensboro Grimsley in an All Metro Conference game.
Southern Alamance (15-5, 5-1) was victorious despite having only three hits.
With the bases loaded in the bottom half of the fifth, the Patriots scored twice. Drew Strawther drove in the first run in the first inning with a sacrifice fly. Ryan Ellington recorded seven strikeouts.
The Whirlies dropped to 5-11, 1-5.
