Post 87 falls to WS Post 55 – 8-5 Thursday night.
WS scored 4 runs in the 3rd without a hit, walks, hit by pitches and wild pitches and errors.WS Added 2 runs in the 4th on 4 hits for 6-2 lead. Evan Edwards was 2 for 5 with an RBI, Nick Goard had 2 hits and Dylan Wilkinson banged 2 singles off the wall. Ryan Caveness had 1 hit and and an RBI. Zack Britton got the loss going 3 1/3 innings. Steven Guy pitched 5 innings and Noah Carter relieved Guy.
87’s play at Asheboro tonight/Friday 7 pm. Both team are tied in the division with 2 losses.

  3. High Point Post 87 HiToms outslugs Winston-Salem in 8-5 defeat
    High Point Post 87 HiToms lost 8-5 at Finch Field on Thursday, despite outhitting Winston-Salem eight to seven.
    Nick Goard was solid at the plate for High Point Post 87 HiToms. Goard went 2-4 and scored two runs. He singled in the seventh and ninth innings.
    Winston-Salem was sparked by Chunn and Vogler, who teamed up for three hits and three RBIs.
    Zach Britton couldn’t get it done on the rubber for High Point Post 87 HiToms, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked two and struck out two.
    The bottom of the first saw High Point Post 87 HiToms take an early lead, 1-0. Evan Edwards singled to ignite High Point Post 87 HiToms’ offense.
    Winston-Salem never trailed after scoring four runs in the third on an error and a sacrifice fly by Chunn.
    High Point Post 87 HiToms scored one run in the third inning, and then followed it up with one more in the sixth. In the third, High Point Post 87 HiToms scored on a fielder’s choice.
    Winston-Salem piled on two more runs in the top of the fourth. The inning looked promising, as Vogler singled, scoring Brinkley to kick things off. That was followed up by Wooten’s single.
    After posting one run in the seventh, Winston-Salem again scored one in the ninth. In the seventh, Winston-Salem scored on an RBI single by Brinkley, bringing home Whitley.
    Two High Point Post 87 HiToms runs crossed the plate in the bottom half of the ninth, making the score 8-5. A fielder’s choice triggered High Point Post 87 HiToms’ comeback. Finally, Boles got Kip Brandenburg to ground out to end the game.
