  1. The best rival game out of all of those might just be the Eastern Guilford at Northeast Guilford game….
It was a heck of a game with Eastern pulling it out, down in Gibsonville last season…..

Going to be tough when you have to choose between Grimsley and Northern Guilford, plus Dudley at West Forsyth should be a good test for a very talented Dudley team….NG has beaten Grimsley two straight seasons and NG is better this year than they were last year, but so is NG…Dudley has some kind of line on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball and Dudley’s third best D-lineman could probably start for most of our area college teams, with the exception of Wake Forest…..

If Southeast Guilford can get it all sorted out, SEG at Scotland County could become a state-wide Game of the Week…..SEG must get that QB spot nailed down…

Tough road for the Page Pirates on the road to Davie County and Javondre Paige QB will have to lead his troops and Javondre Paige can be like the Warren Moon of Guilford County, if he can balance his arms and his legs and he doesn’t have to worry about his fists, Warren took care of all of that already, no need to bring that part back to the table…..

Northwest Guilford at Smith, I would have to give the early edge to Smith, with the experience of Jordan Williams at quarterback….

HP Central will give the Reidsville defense a big test, because Central likes to run around and the Bison can run all over the place, but the Central defense may be outmatched by the Reidsville offense….Reidsville has too many athletes that know the system, all the way back since pre-school football and the Rams have been playing together for almost 15-16 years…Some maybe 20 years, but those guys have since been sent back to RCC/Rockingham Community College…..Reidsville might be the best team around here, not known as the Dudley Panthers…

SWG needs to make a statement for their new coach, Coach Doak, and show that they are serious about wanting to contend in the PTA 3-A…

If Western Guilford wins at home, for their home opener, the Hornets would be (1-0) and would be nearly uncharted territory for them…..

High Point Christian should just keep on winning and if anybody has the scoop on Bishop McGuinness, now is the time to be speaking out….

Just outside the area, East Forsyth has built a very solid program in K’ville and Western Alamance and Eastern Alamance are still the teams to try and catch in Alamance County and what else is new??? Coach Fritz will have his Southern Alamance Patriots ready again in 2019….

  2. I will take all of the home teams to win with the exception of West Forsyth and High Point Central.

Taking road teams Dudley and Reidsville in those games.

  3. Saw some good film on Warren Moon last night from “A Football Life”, by NFL Films and Warren Moon did not hit his wife back in Houston, he choked her and he was cleared in court, so that clears that up….

One of his(Warren Moon’s) favorite receivers back with the Houston Oilers, was a young man out of Page High School, here in Greensboro, and the receiver wore the #84….Anybody out there remember him???

  4. Is the player Haywood Jeffires? I think he gets his hair cut at the same barber shop that I go to…….

  5. Haywood Jeffires, that’s him and he had a 100-reception season for the Houston Oilers back in the day….He and Ernest Givens #85, were outstanding targets for Warren Moon, in the day of the Oilers air attack…

I hear he still lives in Houston, but does spend quite a bit of time, in Greensboro……Dude had a “bad beard” back in that Houston time too….
