ELON, N.C. — The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) announced the Elon University men’s tennis team was ranked 68th in the nation in its final Oracle ITA Division I Men Team Rankings. The Phoenix is one of three Colonial Athletic Association teams ranked in the poll, joining UNC Wilmington (57) William & Mary (59).
Elon ended its spring 2021 campaign with a 15-6 record, including an 11-1 record at Jimmy Powell Tennis Center and a 5-2 victory over the Tribe on March 7. Five of the six losses came against ranked opponents, Wake Forest (#12), VCU (#38), Liberty (#39), William & Mary and East Tennessee State (#61).
The Phoenix awaits to see if it gets into the ITA Kickoff Weekend, which will be held In January 2022.
