We are in here on a Friday afternoon bringing you our Saturday Morning Rewind, a day earlier…To get it rolling we have several of our Friday Nigh High School Football Shows that ran on Thursday night this week…

And as we get rolling today, this news just in on the altercation that took place at last night’s East Forsyth-Mount Tabor game…Word on that game coming in from WXII TV 12:
Fight at East Forsyth-Mount Tabor ended football game early
Deputies used pepper spray to break up a fight when the crowd didn’t respond to verbal commands

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.
The Mount Tabor-East Forsyth game ended early Thursday night after deputies had to use pepper spray to break up a fight.

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office said deputies immediately intervened to an altercation, and when the crowd did not respond to verbal commands pepper spray was used to “safely, quickly and effectively de-escalate the situation.”

No injuries were reported, and there are no reports of any arrests.

Those who were pepper sprayed received medical attention.

Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools officials said no students were involved and that no weapons were found or involved in the incident.

The game ended with about three minutes left on the clock, with East Forsyth leading Mount Tabor, 31-13.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — Deputies used pepper spray to break up a fight that broke out at a football game at Mount Tabor High School in Winston-Salem, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say they were working at the Mount Tabor High School football game when the fight erupted in the crowd.

Deputies immediately intervened. When the crowd would not respond to verbal commands, deputies used pepper spray to “safely, quickly, and effectively de-escalate the situation,” according to the sheriff’s office.

Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools officials tell FOX8 that no students were involved in the fight.

The people who were sprayed were evaluated at the scene, and no injuries have been reported.

The fight caused the game against East Forsyth High School to be cut short around 9 p.m., and EFHS was named the winner of the game.

No word on any charges or what may have incited the fight.

Coach White said this was a TOTAL TEAM WIN…A true Total Team effort…The SWG offense ran the ball 44 times for 258 yards…Coach White was very impressed with his team’s Rushing Offense, and he also told us that this was the Best Offensive Game of the year from his Offensive Line, a group that he calls his “Trench Mob”…SWG used both of their QB’s, Cale Lloyd and Corbin Wilson..

Northern Guilford senior QB Jack Mercer had to leave the game, in the middle of the Third Quarter, with a knee injury…The SWG Defense had two Forced Fumble recoveries, and they were able to pick off Jack Mercer three times in this ballgame…Three interceptions by Mercer before he exited due to injury…

A Total Team Win by the Southwest Guilford Cowboys, over the Northern Guilford Nighthawks, on Thursday night….

  1. No new news yet, but Northern set to visit Northwest Guilford this coming Friday night…

    Tough season for Jack Mercer up to this point, suffering a concussion in the Ragsdale game and having to miss much of that game, and now with the knee injury coming Friday night, in the Southwest Guilford game…

    Still putting up some big numbers this season, but with the time/snaps that he has missed, those numbers could be even bigger…

    Right now on the same page you are on, hoping he is OK, and that he can be back at full strength/100% soon..
