Grimsley headed to Chapel Hill next Friday night, to play for the NCHSAA 4-A Football Championship, and how did Greensboro Grimsley get there…Let’s look back, and try and answer part of that question, with our Saturday Morning Rewind of high school football, from our area…
(7pm Kickoff for this game.)

We do know this, and now hear this…Got word early this morning/Saturday morning, that Jamarie Davis, the Grimsley LB, blocked that Weddington extra point last night…That was a huge block, and we add that, and Jamarie Davis, to the list of Whirlies who are ringing the Victory Bell here this morning. And we can add Jamarie Davis to the list of accolades that helped make Grimsley a winner on Friday night…One part of this equation, that is going to make the overall picture look different next Friday night, is that the Grimsley Whirlies will have to leave their comfort zone at Jamieson Stadium, and go play for the Title in Chapel Hill…But, Grimsley has had much success in Chapel Hill, winning the 4-A Championship from Cardinal Gibbons, in the Spring of 2021…

And how did we find out about Jamarie Davis and him blocking that extra point last night??? I believe we caught that info in Joe Sirera’s Quick Take over the News and Record, and at HSXtra.com…CLICK HERE for the game report from Joe, on last night’s Grimsley-Weddington classic, from over at Jamieson Stadium….

Found a little more for you, over at MaxPreps…The Bears have three 1,000 yard rushers on the season through 14 games, and had scored 74 rushing TD’s…This will be a much different team than what Grimsley has been seeing in their playoff run to Chapel Hill…New Bern Bears:Run First, Run Second, Run Third, and Run on Fourth Down too…In previous games, Grimsley has seen the QB’s looking to pass upfield, but now it appears that the Bears will try to run you to death…
