Voting now CLOSED for the Steak n Shake Players of the Year

The voting has closed for the Steak n Shake Players of the Year, and we will be working to get those Top Four Finishers’ names over to our Selection Committee, and hopefully they can get something to us this week, as we prepare to name the 2022 Steak n Shake High School Football Players of the Year…Counting continues and it looks like we might be sending around $200.00 to Salvation Army Boys and Girls Clubs, as the donation from this year’s contest…Thanks to all who took the time to vote….

We need your vote for the Steak n Shake Players of the Year from the Weekly Winner names that you see here at the site…Just look over the Weekly Winners and give us your choice for Players of the Year…Voting will run today thru Midnight on December 25, and we will take the Top Four Vote Getters in both categories, and take those four names to our Five-Person Selection Panel, and from there, we will name the Steak n Shake Players of the Year for 2022…

Each 2022 Winner, the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, they will receive a very nice plaque, an autographed football, and a Champions Cup…Some real nice gifts from Steak n Shake, Greensboro Trophy, and GreensboroSports.com….The Autographed Footballs, with signatures from former N.C. State star and current Steak n Shake owner Steve Warren, and from GreensboroSports.com, plus the very nice plaques, and a Champions Cup/Plate…..Plaque and Cup engraved, and prizes coming in from Omega Sports and from Greensboro Trophy, and all money that is raised will be paid by us/GreensboroSports.com to the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club of Greensboro….A real nice holiday effort here, so get on board, it costs you nothing but a minute or two to cast your vote, and you are adding back to the community, in two different ways, by voting for the Players of the Year, and by making sure another donation is made to the Salvation Army at Christmas….

Again, we are donating a dollar from every vote that comes in, to the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club of Greensboro…Your vote will count toward one dollar, that will go directly to the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club, here at Christmas 2022…Time to get those votes in, and one vote per household please…But unlimited votes from your scout troop, band members, American Legion Bingo Group, or from your place of worship…..Load up the gang at work and get them to VOTE….You can also do a write-in Vote for the Guilford County Kicker of Year, if you so desire…Just put the names you want to vote for, in the Comment Box below, or send your votes, picks, selections, or choices to andy@greensborosports.com….

Who do you pick for the Players of the Year, and do you have a write-choice for the Kicker of the Year??? Each time someone votes, that will be another Dollar going to the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club of Greensboro, for Christmas 2022…Jump on in….Official Voting is currently underway…..

Stats don’t lie Summers. Got to go with a player from the team that went the furthest and went undefeated until the last game otherwise you are just another dime-a-dozen daddy baller

Gotta go with Logan Wright on D. Numbers don’t lie, and he stepped up and took responsibility like a man in the newspaper article when Dudley lost to South Point. That’s what leaders do.

On O, people may still be butthurt at Southeast about Ryan Stephens leaving (looking at you, wrestling coach), but he left because they were going with Serrano, who transferred in from Ragsdale, BTW. Stephens did it with his arm and his legs and did it even when he was sick in a huge playoff game. QB was supposed to be the question mark at Grimsley this year, and he helped them get to a state championship game.

I’m sure there will be other opinions on POYs, but let’s be grateful for the chance to watch so many great kids ball out in Guilford County this year.

I’m Cameron Williams dad this is where my son kind of loses out because he plays everything not one position so he’s just like a hundred yard all purpose kind of guy , and put you to sleep on defense kind of guy , so he’s the best athlete but definitely Ryan Stevens is the player of the year in the area some games he played half the game and everyone he went up against that we are talking about he out played them so it’s pretty easy to me and it was the first time Ryan and Cameron wasn’t on the team since they were 6 years old .

  1. Logan Wright- Defense
Not only an incredible football player, but he has a very smart mind. He worked Hard in the books and on the field and kept his focus.
    Sooo proud little cousin!!

  2. Gonna add 36 more dollars to the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club Total, with a dollar for every Birthday Wish that came in today over at Facebook…We are getting our totals on up there now, and we have to “Keep Pounding”….Top Four in both categories will make it to the finals…

Trying to get those Players of the Year, and trying to raise more money for the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club….

Send more votes, tell others and send more votes….It all goes to a great cause….

  3. I think it should be Ryan Stephens but the #s Jaiden Evans put up even after missing the 1st 3 games of the season is impressive. I know they are considered for All Area not sure about this one but DPOY should be Dionte Neal from Reidsville.

  4. TaVion Bullock is a leader on and off the field. He Work hard at everything he do.
    Proud of this young man.

  5. Offense Player of the year Steven Murray
Defense Player of the year TaVion Bullock
Super Proud of my boys. ..

  6. The numbers for the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club are starting to pick up, and that is a good thing there…Keep Voting, and be sure to tell others to get in here and vote too….

Thanks, and keep it rolling this week…School is out now, so we all will have to do all we can, to spread the word….

  7. Leading Tackles in his conference Tavion Bullock for Defense player of the year.

Steven Murray is Offense Player of the year.

They make a Big Bro Proud

  8. Ryan Stephens. He put up those numbers while only playing 3 full conference games against Page, SEG and SWG and the playoffs.

Wonder what his numbers would’ve been if the scores weren’t so lopsided allowing Grimsley to sit Ryan for the second half of games?

  9. Ryan Stephens stop playing. Logan Wright stop playing no debate with these two. Total dominance whole year.

  10. Gotta Give up to TaVion Bullock w/134 Tackles on Defense this season.

Offense POY goes to EG’s Steven Murray

  11. Logan Wright was just announced to 1st team All-State… need I say more? DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR!

  12. Tavion Bullock player of the year hands down not even close can’t wait to see u playing on Saturdays and Sundays

  13. Getting close to the finish line, and raising a lot of money for the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club…

  14. Offense -Jaiden Evans (EG). He missed the first three games and still put up close to 1700 yards this season (~3000 career).

Defense -Braxton Veiga (EG). Has been primarily a defensive career player but played both sides of the ball this season. On defense as DL and LB. On offense this season he scored 8 TDs with rushing and receiving yardage.

  15. TaVion Bullock for Player of the year!!!

    Congratulations on a outstanding year. . 134 Tackles . . Number don’t Lie

  16. Defense Logan Wright- led state in sacks, 1st team all state

Offense Ryan Stephens- 3500+ yards and led team to state championship
