Last Time Out
VMI won the series against UNCG with a 2-1 record, with the Spartans defeating the Keydets on Sunday, 14-8.
Dosi Jonas (4), Zack Budzik (2), Bradley Bott (1), Dallas Callahan (1) each contributed to the eight home runs over the weekend.
Two of Jonas’ home runs were grand slams.
UNCG totaled 34 runs on 30 hits against VMI.
The Spartans had 13 and 10 hits in the first and second games, respectively.
These were the 12th and 13th games this season with 10 or more hits.
UNCG has now scored double-digit runs in 10 games this season.

Scouting the Spartans
The Spartans are 14-14 in regular season play and 3-3 in SoCon play.

GC Jarman is nationally ranked 20th and leading the conference in sacrifice files (4).
Budzik is batting .350 (35-for-100) in 26 games played with 23 RBIs, seven doubles, and one triple.
Jonas leads the conference in runs batted in per game (1.48), second in the conference in slugging percentage (0.722), home runs per game (0.33), and doubles per game (0.38).
Nationally he is 22nd in runs batted in per game, 78th in slugging percentage, and 96th in home runs per game.
In 42.2 innings pitched, Jake Wolf has a 3.59 ERA with 21 strikeouts and just 24 runs allowed. He is 1-2 on the mount with one save.
Jonas leads the Spartans with seven home runs; Caleb Cozart and Kennedy Jones have hit four home runs. Rowan Watt, Mitchell Smith, and Callahan have three home runs, while Zack Budzik has two home runs and Daniel Cerda and Bott each have one.

The Panthers are coming off losing three-straight games to Big South foe Longwood in Farmville, Virginia.
