BOILING SPRINGS — Jim Sosebee has a knack for finding a silver lining, even under the most dire of circumstances.

Such faith was put to the test Friday, Sosebee’s undefeated Crest football team down 22-6 to a hard-hitting West Charlotte squad. Yet when their feet were put to the fire, Sosebee and the Chargers didn’t flinch.

Down two scores, Crest (13-0) rallied to defeat West Charlotte 30-29 in overtime to advance to the 3A West semifinal round. The Chargers will host No. 4 Dudley, which won 50-28 over Jay M. Robinson.

After West Charlotte running back Scottie Cooper scored a touchdown to give the Lions a 29-22 advantage, Crest quarterback Ny’Tavious Huskey found UNC recruit Javarius Green for a 10-yard TD pass. Opting against kicking the extra point, Huskey found Adams for the two-point conversion, lifting the Chargers to victory.

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. (WBTV) – The Crest Chargers built about as much drama as possible into their third-round 30-29 overtime win over West Charlotte Friday night. Once trailing 22-6, Crest came back to tie the game and block a potential game-winning field goal from the Lions to force overtime.

Adding it on Andrew Attmore II from last night at Dudley HS, vs. JM Robinson….

Drew Attmore goes 22-32 for 378 yards, with 8 TD passes and 1 INT…
Season going 189-256 for 3,546 yards, with 49 TDs/4 INT.
(New Guilford County all-time single season leader in Passing Yards and Touchdown Passes.)

  1. Congratulations son! Keep grinding, tip of the iceberg! Round #4 NCHSAA 3A West semi game @Crest…Friday night!!

  2. Mr. Attmore is one of the best Pocket QBs I ever seen in High School. When he has time and protection, he will drop that ball in the right spot for those gifted WRs. Dudley stay locked in and listen to their coaches, they will win Friday down in Crest and I feel it will be by 2 TDs or More! Crest Defense isn’t as strong as Dudley’s, that will be the different. Attmore just need to watch those passes on the screens for he doesn’t throw a INT like the South Point Game last year and the JM Robinson Game last Friday. Dudley you can do it, I feel it!!!
