High School Football Tonight with Round Four of the NCHSAA Playoffs
4-A West Regional Semifinals:
#4 Grimsley(13-0) at #1 Weddington(11-2) 7pm…
Game Preview and Postgame Report from Mike Fanning at GreensboroSports.com….

Grimsley leaders going into the Weddington Warriors game…..
QB Faizon Brandon passing…170-244 for 2,795 yards, with 35 TDs/3 INT./69.7% Pass Completion Rate….521 yards on 77 carries with 9 TDs…

RB Mitchell Summers with 1,973 yards on 214 carries with 39 TDs…

WR Alex Taylor has 58 receptions for 1,009 yards and 14 TDs…

WR Terrell Anderson with 53 receptions for 985 yards and 13 TDs…

WR Kaden Catoe has 23 receptions for 343 yards and 5 TDs…
No updated defensive numbers on Grimsley, and No updated stats at all on the Weddington Warriors…

Mike Fanning has been covering the Grimsley Whirlies all season long for GreensboroSports.com and he has the preview of the Grimsley-Weddington game here at the site…Just a few normal notes going with Grimsley over Weddington in the playoffs last season, squeaking by with a 28-27 victory, and that was added to Grimsley’s Triple Overtime win over Hough last season, and some are saying Hough is MORE tough than Weddington, and Weddington just has a longer name….Weddington went long and topped the Charlotte Catholic Cougars, last week in Round Three action…First playoff road game for Grimsley since the 2018 season, and that ought to tell you something…Grimsley has been playing so good in recent years that the Whirlies have been able to stay off of the road…Also it tells you that Grimsley is headed into unchartered territory, but you also have to consider that Grimsley has played in Championship Games on the road in Chapel Hill, and that also involves getting out of town, before sundown for Coach Brown, and his men in White and Blue….Good Luck Tonight, on the 7 O’Clock Flight, into the night, and got to get it right, for the Blue and White…It could be Dynomite in Matthews….

3-A West Regional Semifinals:
#4 Dudley(13-0) at #1 Boiling Springs Crest(13-0) 7:30pm
We will have this Game Broadcast for you on GreensboroSports Radio…Pregame at 6:45pm, with the Kickoff at 7:30pm…..Nile Harris will join us for the broadcast from Crest High School, on GreensboroSportsRadio.com

Dudley Panthers will work to get the ball into the playmakers hands, and that means the ball going to Newkirk, Neely, Bartley, Southern, Jayden Brown, Lee, and Blackwell…Every Bartley run you see, usually turns into a highlight reel, and I would really like to see MORE of that TONIGHT…The MORE touches Newkirk gets, the MORE it seems the scoreboard is lighting up….The Dudley wideouts going long distance in yards per catch, and they really get the biggest part of their yardage in their runs after the catch…Nasir Newkirk with 21.9 yards per catch…CJ Neely with 20.9 yards per catch…Kordell Bartley with 17.1 yards per catch…LJ Southern with 9.4 yards per carry and 18.3 yards per reception….Jayden Brown with 10.5 yards per carry and 21.4 yards per reception…Antonio Lee with 15.1 yards per catch..

As you can see, that can add up to some yards, with Dudley QB Andrew/Drew Attmore II being more than happy to sling that football around in a lot of different directions…Keeping all Panthers happy, in the proceeding process…

The Crest offense is a potent force that the Panthers will have to find a way to position themselves into stopping…Got to make inroads into the backfield and join the “Roll Call at the Football”…Need to see Bell, Ishmael, Ratliff, and Dakota Brown, going into Crest Town, and being all around the Chargers QB Ny’Tavious Huskey….Got to get it done with the Four D’s…Dudley, Defense, Davis, and all-out Discipline….Wilson, Baldwin, McCollum and Parker will make it a point to get to the Chargers quickly, and make sure they get the Dudley Defense, off of the field….

We want to watch the Dudley offense go at it all night long…If the Dudley Offense in on the field, and if Dudley has the football, Crest can’t score…Dudley has been doing a very good job of hitting for the big plays, and grabbing the Big Chunk plays on Offense…Great to see that Dudley Offense really come alive last week, vs. JM Robinson, at The Tarp/Tarpley Stadium…Dudley Defense getting Crest off of the field, will be a huge plus in this game, and it does nothing more than to insure that the Panthers’ offense has the ball, and they will be getting ready to go on the attack….Move the ball, move the chains, change the scoreboard score, beside the Visitors name…Dudley, that is….

Also need a big game from sophomore kicker/punter Andre Cummings…Want to see him have a perfect night on his PAT Kicks….Dudley kick returns could play a major field position factor, with Kordell Bartley and LJ Southern back there in Kickoff and Punt Return mode….

Of those four D’s, the Discipline may be the KEY D for this contest…Need no False Start calls, and no holding calls…You shore those up, and you should be able to land on shore, at the next Port/Round of the Playoffs….

Looking at Dudley leaders going into their game with the Crest Chargers…..
QB Andrew Attmore II going 189-256 for 3,546 yards passing with 49 TDs/4 INT./73.8 Pass Completion Rate…
