Josh Wilson Wins National Championship; First Individual Men’s Wrestling National Championship in School History
La Crosse, WI – Josh Wilson(Greensboro College/Southeast Guilford HS/Greensboro, N.C.) has won the NCAA National Championship in the 141lb weight class on Saturday night. Wilson defeated the #1 ranked wrestler, Ohio Northern’s Jacob Reed, to win the title.
Wilson is the first men’s wrestler to win an NCAA National Championship in school history. Wilson finishes the season at 30-3, winning the ODAC Conference Tournament, the NCAA Southeast Regionals, and now the NCAA Title. With his performance in this year’s tournament, Wilson is now a four time NCAA All-American.
Head Coach Justin Harty has now coached his first National Champion wrestler as head coach of the Pride program. Harty is in his third season as head coach for Greensboro College.

In 2021-22, Josh was named the highest all-American in GC wrestling history after he made it to the semi finals of the National Wrestlers Coaching Association (NWCA) tournament and finished in 6th place.
High School: Wrestled at Southeast Guilford. Placed at States four times and won States.
Personal: Son of Melanie and John Wilson. Majoring in Communications.
