  1. Why Dudley over Grimsley? Grimsley #3 in the state and like 80th in the nation in FOUR A Does not make sense.

  2. One of those old theories where when a team begins or starts the season at #1, then you leave them at #1 until they give you a reason to drop them down…Dudley and Grimsley both playing well right now, and they have locked in their spots for now…Things could change as the weeks go by, and we will be ready to change…If Grimsley would have started the season with us at #1, they would still be #1…Going to be fun to see how far both teams go this season…

  3. I don’t have a dog in the fight (or a Panther or a Whirlie, for that matter), but by any objective measure Grimsley has played a much tougher schedule. As usual since Dudley was put in its current conference, the Panthers’ league schedule is not exactly challenging. When Hillside is down, which it is this year, the non-conference schedule is beyond soft because Page is struggling. As has been the case in recent years, we won’t know much about Dudley until well into the playoffs.

It’s too bad Dudley and Grimsley don’t play each other to settle the argument over who’s No. 1. The kids would love it, and so would the fans. But the chirping and pettiness from both coaching staffs on the recruiting trail seems to have put egos before everything else. Sad that the adults can’t set a better example.

When two of the top 10 programs in the state are in the same city and don’t play each other everyone loses.

  4. I agree Grimsley would put the smack down on Dudley and all the chatter would end. You know I love to stir the pot. Much respect for both programs.
