Grimsley at West Forsyth and Mark Pruitt from the WS Journal has the skinny, with this article running in the News and Record and in the Journal…
On the injured Grimsley QB Faizon Brandon….Faizon Brandon, Grimsley’s senior quarterback and No. 1 player in the country who has committed to Tennessee, injured his right thumb in last week’s win against West Charlotte and will be out for several weeks.

On Faizon’s backup, freshman Brody Lowe….On Lowe’s fifth day as a high school student and his first career start, he met the moment and helped lead Grimsley to a 31-17 win against West Forsyth by completing 13 of 21 passes for 306 yards and two touchdowns.

Lowe’s touchdown passes went for 52 and 36 yards, respectively, and he also had six completions of 20 yards or more.

Lowe’s 36-yard touchdown pass to Kaden Catoe with 3:34 left to play was the backbreaker. It came on a third-and-17 play that West Forsyth defended well, but it increased the lead to 31-17 and put the game away.

CLICK HERE for the full tilt tally, with Mr. Go To It/Just Do It, Mark Pruitt, at the Winston-Salem Journal….And the paywall didn’t hit me, where the Good Lord split me…

Now let’s get the look on Grimsley at West Forsyth, from Rich Habegger at the HS OT/WRALSportsFan.com….
Rich, with the Pitch….CLEMMONS, N.C. — Two of the Triad’s top football teams squared off Friday night in Clemmons as the Whirlies of Grimsley met the West Forsyth Titans. Adding intrigue to the game was the fact that Grimsley’s All-American quarterback, Faizon Brandon, injured his right thumb in last week’s victory over West Charlotte and was unable to play.

Grimsley coach Darryl Brown said before the game that he is not expecting it to be a long term injury.

Stepping into the quarterback void for the Whirlies was freshman Brody Lowe who had never started a high school game. Lowe, who learned on Tuesday that he would start the game, showed no sign of nerves and played like a veteran. Unofficially, he had over 300 yards passing against a tough Titan secondary which included two touchdown
throws. It was quite a debut!
