Thursday Night Finals:
High Point Andrews 72, High Point Central 0
Andrews(8-2)/Central(0-10)
Ragsdale 44, Southwest Guilford 13
RHS(3-7)/SWG(1-9)
TONIGHT:
Western Guilford(5-4) at Page(6-3) 7pm
Page has the young weapons to make this their game, and if Western does not have Timothy Baker and Caleb Moore, then the Hornets are in trouble….Page looking for their Round One Playoff spot at home, and Western hoping the playoffs do come calling…
Grimsley(9-0) at Smith(2-6) 7pm
Grimsley may end up resting their regulars early in the second half, and we may get to find out who the backup QB is for the Whirlies these days…Have not heard about who is backing up freshman QB Brody Lowe for Grimsley…Smith will battle early, but by halftime this game will in the Whirlies’ corner…And I would see Grimsley looking at a possible Round One bye in the playoffs…
Northwest Guilford(2-7) at WS Reynolds(6-3) 7pm
I can see NWG RB Easton Dean being a big factor in this game…He has just gotten healthy again in recent weeks, and you can tell a difference on how Northwest is playing on offense…Ferrell Price knows this is his team now and he is still putting up impressive numbers as the NWG QB…Austin Jackson, Rob Lange, and the NWG Defense must be ready to make a statement too…Must-win game for NWG…
Northern Guilford(8-1) at Southeast Guilford(6-3) 7:30pm
If SEG’s top two backs, Caleb Jackson and Travis Motley, are not healthy, then SEG would be set to lean heavily on #3 man at RB, Joshua Williams-Hatten…Williams-Hatten had a very big game for SEG, last week at Southern Guilford…SEG wants to run the ball, and control the clock, and Northern can score quick…Quick-hitters from NG QB Jaxson Kemp are key, and his key receivers, C.J. Morrison and Greyson Council, are excellent primary targets…Morrison with like 10 TD receptions on the season, and he had three TD catches last week, at EG…All that being said about Kemp and his top receivers, and Kemp fits the mold of top quarterback in Guilford County right now with Grimsley’s Faizon Brandon down with injury, but Northern can also control the flow of the game with their top RB Amare Akers…NG D led by LBs Chance Crews and Noah Smith, and SEG led by their LBs, Amir Lyles and Terrence Norwood…Big kicker for NG in Kobe Guadardo…Game is our Murphy Wainer Orthopedic Specialists Game of the Week on GreensboroSports Radio, and Coach Randy Norris will there with us to get you all the action, again on GreensboroSports Radio…
Eastern Guilford(4-5) at Northeast Guilford(7-2) 7:30pm
Another one of those big and key games in the TAAC Conference, and the top five teams in the TAAC will be bringing the smack to the NCHSAA Playoffs…NEG has been playing that “Lights Out” NEG Ram Defense, with DB Dre Deese, DB Shelton Moss, LB Amir Wooleridge, DL Antonio Escobar, DB Aaryn Tate, and more…NEG’s offense has been good, but their NEG Defense has been better…For Eastern Guilford, it looks like their Offense may be ahead of their Defense right now…Can not say anything bad at all about that EG Offense…QB Javion Majette is on the way up, RB Tyler Whaley-Melvin is a very hard runner, and WRs Keyvon Haynes and Noah Turner are two very good wideouts, and Turner is only a freshman…NEG has the offensive weapons too, but we are still more sold on the NEG “D” right now…NEG “D” and the EG offense, two parts of this game to watch closely…Game will be on GreensboroSports Radio 2, with Demetri Morrison on the call for you…We had lots of good games this season for you, on GreensboroSports Radio, 1&2…And on some occasions, it has been, 1,2, and 3….Lots of FREE sports information there for you…
Asheboro(7-2) at Southern Guilford(2-7) 7:30pm
They talk on the commercials was that America Runs on Dunkin, and that is Dunkin Doughnuts and Dunkin Coffee…But for the Southern Guilford Strom, I would say Southern Guilford Runs on R.J. Scott…He seems to the workhorse/bell cow for the Storm…As RJ Scott goes, so goes Southern Guilford…He is not a one-man team, but he is as close as you can get to one…Others contribute for the SG Storm, but when you look at the final numbers for Southern Guilford, Scott’s name is beside most of those numbers…The Britton Brothers seem to really get it done for the Asheboro Blue Comets, and one is the throwing and running A’boro QB, and the other Britton is the ball-carrier/RB for the Comets…The Britton Brother that is the QB, runs that football a whole lot of the time…Brittons gettin the splittin and sittin pretty good coming up Highway 220 heading North onto Kivett Drive…
Covenant Day(2-7) at High Point Christian Academy(9-0) 7pm
Don’t know a dog gone thing about the Covenant Day team, but I do know for sure, that by the end of the night, HPCA will close out their regular season, and head into the NCISAA Playoffs with an Unbeaten Regular Season Record of (10-0)…Not too shabby for the HPCA Cougars…HPCA led by RB Jaylen Moore, who is edging ever-so closer to his 2,000 yard rushing season…QB Amsterdam Knox has led this Cougar Conglomerate to an outstanding season, and with Moore and Hez Krider running the ball like they do, then High Point Christian Academy is almost unstoppable, and at least unflappable…
Other area games…..

Top Ten for this Week:

2)Northern Guilford(8-1)
3)Northeast Guilford(7-2)
4)High Point Andrews(8-2)
5)Dudley(6-4)
6)Page(6-3)
7)Southeast Guilford(6-3)
8)High Point Christian Academy(9-0)
9)Eastern Guilford(4-5)
10)Western Guilford(5-4)
Andrews ranked higher than Page and Dudley is wild. Yeah they are 7-2 but they had a very week schedule. Page and Dudley would both beat them with ease
Minor technicality, but Andrews is (8-2)…
8-2 with a weak schedule still does not compare to Dudley and Page Schedule
Western Guilford, that young back up QB did some good thing again Dudley and Ragsdale High school, so I thank he will show up again Page.
