Any updated score for the Page/western game?
Page western final score

Western-0
Not really sure where the 6-0 score came from
Maxprep had 6-0 for the longest
the 6-0 was probably just some random person posting Page’s first score, messed it up, and figured they would get out of the way lol
Since some schools have begun video streaming their games, I have noticed an increase of fake/false game reports. When we started reporting scores, there were several people that always provided us (and other media outlets) timely scoring updates. After COVID, many of those reporting scores ceased doing them and video streaming increased. When the Page-Western score went from 0-6 to 41 in the first quarter, I knew the score was false. MaxPreps is the “official” score of record; however, they don’t provide safeguards to validate live scores, which means fake scores show up every week. After the teams return home, a team’s coaching staff will correct fake scores.
There was a time, years ago, local media outlets utilized most of their employees to gather live scores – sales people, secretaries, and other office employees were given press passes to report games. Almost every game in the area would have multiple media outlets in attendance. Today, sports photographers drop by a few games in order to get some “action” video for the news later in the night. The days of stringers are gone.
@Don
The 35-0 that was reported by one of Page’s Maxprep’s reporters was legit but I understand she also didn’t report the correct quarter, she then reported a rushing TD that made it 41-0 (for some reason did not report the PAT) and did not provide further updates, which made it seem unreliable.
Unfortunately, none of the guys who have been going to the games for years, including myself couldn’t make it last night, so there was no reliable source. It wasn’t until later in the night, when Chris Hughes texted me looking for the score, and we had to hunt around for it.
