Some exciting games last night, with Western Guilford’s 24-21 win over the Southwest Guilford Cowboys, with One Second left in the contest, Page slipping past Ragsdale, 14-12 in Jamestown, Eastern Guilford topping the SEG Falcons, 42-0 in dominating fashion at Forest Oaks, and then you had Grimsley topping the #1 team from the state of Virginia, with the Whirlies stopping Varina in Overtime, 24-17…
But, the Grimsley Whirlies band got Disbanded, and was forced to leave the stadium up at Varina, near Richmond…We all heard about when ‘Grant took Richmond’, and then Grimsley was trying to add, but not take, or let’s say they were looking create a little localized atmosphere up there in the Virgina air, but I swear, Grimsley’s Band was kicked “Right Out of There”…..
The Band was at the show, and they end up becoming “The Show”, and they in turn steal “The Show”….
They, the Band was forced to go, and where did they go, and what did they do when they were forced to leave the stadium, there in Virginia??? Do you go sit on the bus in the parking lot…Do you stand in unison outside the stadium, and peer in and try to still see what is going on???
Don’t know, but do know For Sure, this has created a stir/A Stink….
From one of our other postings, here at the site:Saw little kids wearing glasses and carrying their flutes, clarinets, trumpets, horns and other instruments out the stadium…Varina sure made the Grimsley Marching Band get marching…I saw video on News 2 with Chad Silber anchoring…What do others think of this move by the Varina officials/administration?????
Say we might call this event, The Band on the Run, or on the move…But now we will rejoin our previous program, and we are on to The Saturday Morning Rewind…I guess we were on The Rewind earlier, but now for some football highlighted details…

No. 20 Crest responds in second half to take down previously unbeaten No. 13 South Point football
from Richard Walker, HighSchoolOT Contributor
BELMONT, N.C. — Veteran coach Mark Barnes has seen South Point’s “Red Bone” offense make great defenses look bad for years.
That includes his teams at Crest.
And for a half in Friday’s game, it was happening again to Barnes’ Chargers.
But in the second half, No. 20 Crest’s defense stiffened when it had to and its offense made plays when it had for a hard-fought 24-14 victory at No. 13 South Point.
“I’ve played against them a lot,” Barnes said. “And it doesn’t matter how long you practice it, it takes awhile to get the feeling for what they’re doing and the speed at which they’re actually doing it. And that’s a tribute to South Point and their whole coaching staff.”
“We came in thinking we’re a really good defensive team. And we are a good defensive team. But early on tonight, we struggled. And then we seemed to get better and better.”

And the moral of the story is, “Carry On My Wayward Son, life is not EASY, when you are, “Facing the Giants”…
