Perhaps best known for their hit “Celebrate,” Kool & The Gang found a
special sound at the unique intersection of jazz, R&B, funk and pop. Their
music has been created by the same core of players for over thirty years:
Robert “Kool” Bell, his brother Khalis Bayyan, their longtime friends Dennis
“DT” Thomas and George “Funky” Brown, and past members Robert “Spike”
Mickens, the late Charles Smith, Ricky West and Woody Sparrow.
McCain, a Greenville, S.C. native, is best known for his smash hits “I’ll
Be,” “I Could Not Ask For More” and “Solitude.” His latest release, Best
of Edwin McCain, collects all of those fan favorites plus a new song, “Walk
With You,” in one disc. After releasing eight albums and selling over 2
million copies, he continues to perform hundreds of concerts throughout the
country each year. McCain’s 1997 album, Misguided Roses, sold more than
500,000 copies and was certified a gold album.

They have Kansas(Dust in the Wind) coming for the Beer Festival, so why not Kool and the Gang for the golf tournament….
I remember seeing Edwin McCain playing a concert in a field over off of West Meadowview Road………………
Wow sounds like some really world class entertainment…30 years ago. The 80s called and they want their golf tourney back. Is Edwin going to stop selling his used books long enough to put on a concert? Sure glad they moved this from Forest Oaks so they can draw the BIG names.
