Wednesday Night Girls Summer League High School Basketball at Page HS

At Page High School tonight to watch some of the Girls High School Basketball League action and as it turned out, Page turned back Northeast Guilford, it was Southeast Guilford taking down the Piedmont Classical Bobcats, and in the nightcap, Magna Vista, Virginia topped the Northern Guilford Nighthawks…

Page with Lola Vanore running the show, and leading the Pirates to victory, SEG will several top Falcons including a freshman guard(Cadance Robinson) that Coach Hannah Revis is very excited about…Northern with Lena McField in the house, but the Nighthawks allowed too many inside buckets, as the Magna Vista team did a good job with overall penetration….Malena Delisa and Cara Trippett also important veterans back for NG coach Josh Evans…And as NG fell behind, they could not get the stops to get back in the game…

For Page coach Ed Johnson, Lola Vanore has continued to step up her game, and she has become a true leader for the Page Pirates girls basketball team…Three of the six teams on the court tonight, will meet up during the 2024-2025 season, in the last hurrah for the current Metro 4-A Conference….Page, NG, and SEG current and soon to be out-going Metro 4-A members….

Very good Summer League for girls basketball going on over at Page HS, and good to see former Page girls basketball outstanding guard, Reagan Maynard, at tonight’s games running the clock, and good to see Lindsey Braddock, the athletic sports trainer at the games, keeping a close medical watch over all the young ladies that were playing tonight…
(Reagan Maynard, a rising senior and a key guard, on the women’s basketball team at Bridgewater College, home of the Eagles./Lindsey Braddock, also a key player with the Murphy Wainer Orthopedic Specialists.)

Coach Ed Johnson from Page HS is running the Monday and Wednesday night league, and it gives teams a chance to work on their games, in the offseason/during Summer Vacation…..

Lena McField, the rising Northern Guilford sophomore, is hearing from quite a few colleges these days, with the ACC and SEC being very aggressive, as they seek her services for women’s college basketball…

The seasons never stop….Baseball is going on, football is warming up, and basketball never slows down to take a day/night OFF…

  1. Thanks for coming out tonight Andy! Always appreciate the coverage and support you give to the high schools in this area.
Be November before you know it!

  2. Yes Coach Ed Johnson, good to be there…Sort of felt like we were back in the old routine tonight, with High School Basketball Back on the Burner….
