The North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) released the final playoff brackets for the 2022 Baseball and Softball State Playoffs. Each field features 64 teams in each of the Association’s four classifications. Play is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at the site of the higher seed. The tournament is a single elimination format until the Regional Finals, which will be a best-of-three series. The State Championships are scheduled for July 3 & 4th and they are also best-of-three series. Back in the summer, a group of legislators introduced a version of House Bill 91 that would have prevented North Carolina high schools from continuing to participate in athletic competition organized by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association, to the detriment of our state’s student-athletes.
